But honestly, there are some primo X370 boards for decent prices, so I'd just grab one of those... Asus PRIME X370-PRO, MSI X370 Carbon, Asrock X370 Taichi, etc. You get a heck of a lot of board for around $140 or so. thumb.gif

B350 boards also support Crossfire, but not SLI.
The Ryzen 7 1700, if you overclock it, is unbelievable $ / performance. If you have no need of 8 cores / 16 threads at all (only gaming or somesuch) then wait for the less expensive 6 core / 12 thread processors like the Ryzen 5 1600 (~ $219) which will be phenomenal $ / Performance!

I didn't realize the B350 supported Crossfire! I guess I misunderstood when I saw no SLI support.

And that 1600 Ryzen looks pretty cool for the price. I just read up on it last night... sounds like a hell of a chip for a "budget" system

The new Ryzen platforms are kick butt! A nice Ryzen 1700 with a corresponding Asus/Gigabyte mobo should do the trick. smile.gif

Ya, windows locks up and then unfreezes and locks up again. Could not even start a game. I have been reading that it could be my Corsair 1200 watt psu. It could also just be that my system is too outdated.

I thought they would have fixed this! I had something similar when I first tried the 290Xs in my Gigabyte 890FX mobo. It was when crossfire over pcie (no bridge) was brand new so I thought it was early adopter punishment... I guess not.

If it's what I dealt with, it's a software problem. I spent like 2 days changing drivers and updating BIOS and all sorts of stuff. Finally I reformatted my SSD and did a fresh windows install and the problem was resolved. I'm still not sure what the actual issue was... but starting fresh worked for me.

1200W should be lots for 2 480's and a 1090T. My triple 290X's and over clocked i7 5930k only draw around 1000W under a 3D gaming load.

Yeah, I would think you would be in the 700w range ballpark with your system and not be pushing the limits of the psu at all. a psu might drop in efficiency slightly over time, but since you aren't near the limits of what it can provide, I doubt you would notice. Do you have the same issues with just one card installed? Also, is it because of core parking or C states that you get some locking up? I have experienced something like that with C states enabled. I limited my cpu c states in bios to C3 and that seemed to do away with lots of the stuttering I experienced.

Well, I have the latest amd drivers, and the last bios update was years ago for my board. I could try a clean windows install, but I just did that recently. Hate starting over, but that's what ill have to do. I guess thatll be my sunday. Otherwise

Got it to work with my current system smile.gif I flashed to latest bios, updated to latest drivers. I am able to play games without issues, however I had to turn off freesync on my main monitor in order to have an extended desktop on 2nd monitor. I now have disabled 2nd monitor in order to use freesync. Otherwise, my main screen constantly blinks and artifacts.
