Before we get into the specs and prices I should point out that because these product listings are for the Australian market, the prices are out of whack due to currency exchange rates, value added taxes and other import fees. In fact, we looked at existing motherboards and AMD chips on the same site and found prices to be on average 40% higher than US retail prices on Amazon or Newegg.

Why are these manufacturers assuming mATX is for low-budget only? I want a beefy B350 mATX moBo as I really don't need X370.

I'd heard of them in passing, not sure about one of the biggest but they've been around a while.

Mine works fine where it is.

There will be more B350 mATX boards, considering the platform supports overclocking I wouldn't be surprised if we see a few more pop up a little closer to launch

Seems like AMD is hitting the right price points on all fronts. The under $600 market segment is about to get the largest performance boost since the 2500k. The decision not to chase quad channel really paid off.

My personal upgrade path is putting me in an 8/16 at $600 and I could have gotten there at $500.

I think it has more to do with sales and RoI than Asus thinking m-atx builders are all on budgets. The market for enthusiast m-atx is probably not very big.

Motherboard usually come with soo many extra stuff that we dont really need. Such a waste of money.

usually I only need 1-2 sata ports, 1 PCIE for GPU, 1 audio output then maybe only needed 3-4 USB ports.

I'm interested in AsRock myself, best customer support experience I've ever had (Gigabyte is a close second).

Asus would get my money because they're reliable, but their support is quite mediocre and short-lived. Plus they charge out of their asses.

So you start with things 'we' don't need and then add it's actually things you don't need. Nice
:p

I personally need as many USBs as I can get my hands on. And a good chunk of SATAs too.

Hmm... too gamer oriented. I'd prefer a workstation-style motherboard with many more connectors (particularly PCIe slots).

Not bad but not my cup of tea.

I doubt Jim Keller would engineer something like Faildozer.

My Z77 ASRock board is still going strong, not a single problem with it. Planning to probably go Gigabyte myself this time around. If Gigabyte dissapoints, maybe ASRock again.

What I mean is that Jim is a perfectionist. He wouldn't put his name on something like Faildozer. I think the performance we've been seeing... from the leaks... attests to this. His reputation is how he keeps landing these big Chip projects from various companies.
