[Kotaku] Zelda: Breath of the Wild to have a season pass and DLC - Page 11

Lack of demand because most Chinese people (and that extends to India and the rest) cannot afford to pay $500 for a gaming console. Cheap consoles sell plenty fine.

Smartphones weren't in great demand either until really cheap ones were introduced. Then boom! One of the largest worldwide markets.

If you thought I was selling the notion that they deliberately created a situation where the software team would develop an online marketplace while the hardware team would fail to facilitate it with internal storage, you didn't understand my post.

I was saying that there was likely no horizontal management, and the communication through vertical management was insufficient because it failed to coordinate these two conflicting objectives of "mobility / minimal hardware" and "online market place / DLC."

A mistake this disastrous doesn't occur when the lines of communication are clear.

I thought game console sales where banned in China until recently?

Same. I thought it was politics, not income.

It was only in the last couple of years at most they were allowed to be sold.

I find it hilarious that selling nearly 14 million units is considered selling "poorly". Maybe poorly in terms of expectation, but I guarantee Nintendo still made a profit from the Wii U. People act as though they didn't sell any of the things...

That figure (shown here, right hand side) is units shipped, not sold.

That aside, Nintendo plans to ship around 800,000 Switch units, we'll see if they break even.

Units shipped is probably pretty close to units sold. I doubt there are millions of Wii U's sitting on shelves at this point.

Something I said and every OCN member replied telling me it is poor and a failure. So I let it be.
