Depends upon *which* of today's games, I can only think of one or two that performs as good on FX. Of course, if both are around 60fps and you're playing 1080p60fps.... I do think Ryzen will be terrific though, but because it has improved per-thread performance that will put a nail in the coffin for FX's lackluster IPC and single-threaded. There will be no need for games to take into account the FX's performance characteristics with Ryzen out there.
Edit: There is an interesting rumor: AMD plans on continuing to make FX for a bit, but at a much lower price, and this was the reason for Intel making the KL Pentiums that are hyperthreaded. So in any event, it will pay to wait, even if you want FX.Edited by PloniAlmoni - 2/17/17 at 11:03am
