Anyone going with 6c/12t for their Ryzen build?

As the title says. I'm planning on doing this. I wanted to know if anyone else is too, out of curiosity. I'm wondering how they will overclock compared to the 1700/1800 CPUs.

Id personally wait for all the reviewers to do their work to see how well they work and if the performance is there. Im interested in that XFR though, are they the new "black edition" unlocked cpus or are all of them unlocked?

Really want that 1700x. But if IPC doesn't at least match Haswell and they don't all clock to 4.4+ that's a bust for me

They're all unlocked if you have a X370 of B350 chipset.

the XFR technology can tell if your running premium cooling suck as after market air water and liquid nitrogen and it will boost its clock speed by its self
All the RYZEN cpu's are unlocked
im also looking at the r5 1600

Honestly, it's 8 cores or burst for me. Really want the multitasking boost. Already selling my i5/mobo & ram. I wish ddr3 was still an option. Would have made the change a bit easier on my side.

I may not be, but my buddy and I are gonna have an OC war when I get my 4960X. His reasoning for getting the lowest tier 8 core is because you're essentially paying extra for a feature that wouldnt be very efficient.

IMHO, if you're gonna spend the money, why not spend the little extra to get the 8 core?

For one, I don't do much that would utilize 8 cores. Having 6 is future-proof enough for me at the moment. I would figure by the next time I upgrade, more games would utilize more cores. But that's not for years down the road. Besides, to me, ~$130 for the next worthwhile Ryzen (1700X) doesn't qualify as "a little extra" when the price of the 1600X is roughly $250-$260. That money would be better spent on a higher end motherboard or an M.2 drive.

If it clocks WAY HIGHER than the 8-Core I will to start. I'm more interested in benching Ryzen though not running it as my DD.
