Is Linus implying there is a max clockspeed on some of these? At one point he says something like 3.4ghz base, 3.8ghz boost, or 3.9ghz with appropriate cooling. I'd hate to think that 3.9ghz is some sort of max.
Listened again, yeah I wish he would have said 4.1ghz+ or 3.9ghz+, it's probably just Linus's mistake tho.

I fear overclocking is very limited when we cant see real reviews, I really dont understand this preorder crap, just release the cpus, this can almost only backlash with bad PR

1800x; 95w TDP; 1,601; $500 3.202 p/d (performance per dollar. Cinebench score divided by the price.)
1700x; 95w TDP; 1,537; $400 3.843 p/d
1700; 65w TDP; 1,410; $330 4.273 p/d
Made this super quickly. Not only does the 1700 have the lowest TDP, it also shines in the performance per dollar category. For a teen on a budget, this is huge for me!

Can't wait to see the OC differences between the 1700 and the 1800x. How different is it in the real world? Will it be a situation of the 8320 vs the other 83xx, where the 8320 clocks as high as the rest so it makes no sense to buy higher?
What is that listed TDP really going to mean to the OC community?
So 3.2ghz 6900k = 1400? Do all 8 cores boost to max at 100% load? Or do you need to turn on an option in motherboard bios like 4 cores? Do we know if this is on and what the 6900k is running at? 3.2? 3.5? 3.7?
And the 1800x is at 1600? And this chip is 4ghz? So 1400/3.2x4.0= 1750 score? So clock for clock 1600 vs 1750? If 3.5ghz then 1600vs1600? If true at HALF the price this sounds like a buy for me. Lets just hope the motherboards won't come DOA.
Intel has Intel Turbo Boost Max Technology 3.0 Frequency. Which i think is the same thing as AMDs new XFR.
