HDMI Splitter won't work correctly...

Now, this isn't specific to one splitter, I've tried a couple....

First here's what I'm trying to do...
I have an external dedicated streaming PC, with an Elgato HD60 connected to it. Wanting to use the HD60 through OBS on that machine because while I'm playing, frame drops make me rage. The splitter exists because if I use a straight up pass through with the Elgato, because the chroma sub-sampling of the Elgato is only YUV:422, it leaves bright colors (mostly reds) looking pixelated etc. It's just a limitation of the sub-sampling. The videos look fine, but it makes actual usage a pain. So the splitter is there so I can output the HDMI port on my video card to it, and split it between the Elgato and my main monitor. Effectively getting the signal to my Elgato, and my monitor, no quality loss.

Here's what's happening...
I hook the splitter up (any splitter), output one end to my monitor, that works fine...but the second I plug in the other output to the Elgato (also tested with my Avermedia Live Gamer HD PCI-E card) the monitor loses signal and the splitters will only output to the capture card.

Now, I did my due diligence, and checked...yes, these are *splitters* and not *switches*. Here's the ones I've tried....

Any ideas how I can make it output to both? They work fine on *other* devices (such as PS4 out to 2 monitors).

The signal should be un-altered.
You'd think so, but with these capture cards, nope.
