Ok to be fair, I happen to agree.... I have been caseless since last Wednesday when I got it as there are simply zero cases available. While the glass back is really nice to look at and feel, It's like holding an ice cube in hand.
But that reality is, anyone spending $800 on a tablet is going to put it in a protective case rendering the back composition moot.
I literally have 3 different cases on order from Amazon and I also ordered a cheap pouch style case for the S2 (which will work albeit with button holes off alignment) for temporary use.
I really want the Samsung Book Cover but it is nowhere to be found in Canada. The keyboard case (which I am not terribly interested in) is nowhere to order either. On the Samsung site, it states the book cover will ship in early April.
In the past Samsung has always released it's cases in conjunction with the release of the devices. I am not sure what their plan was this time around. I can tell by the deferred shipping dates on Amazon for cases for this device that clearly the case makers were very much delayed in getting an actual device for measurement purposes as well.
On the bright side, the tablet is fantastic, battery is incredible screen is incredible, literally lightning fast, split screen apps work flawlessly, the AMOLED screen is gorgeous for watching video (Been watching into the badlands season 1 on it in 1080P .mkv files).
The quad speaker array is really decent for tablet sound although I tend to watch content on it with headphones regardless.
This is without a doubt the greatest android tablet ever made. Now if I could just find a case for it....
What I cannot figure out is how the book cover adheres to the tablet. ??? On the S2, it had the locking nipples (which was a great system btw), also used by the Tab A series. The back of the S3 has no adhesion point that I can see and from these pics from the Samsung site, it is even less clear.Edited by Robilar - 3/29/17 at 6:28am
