Warner Bros. has officially announced Middle-earth: Shadow of War, the sequel to 2014's excellent Shadow of Mordor - it will be released on August 22 in North America and August 25 in Europe (Australia not confirmed at time of writing).
I never finished the first one. I enjoyed it but I was wrapped up in other games and just never got around to finishing it. Looks like I will wait a few months and start it back up again. The performance vs quality in the first one is excellent, I hope they up the ante with the second one.
Had a blast playing the first one quite a while back, looking forward to this one. Nemesis system was great and more games (particularity open-world ones) should create their own.
Am I the only one that felt that the game was repetitive? I finished it, it was fun, but it was only like 8 main missions supported by side quests over the deep end to power up? I guess the theme and setting didn't grow on me very well. I mean, I've played some games that had about the same amount of main missions and tons of side quests, but it felt different I guess.
the first one is A++++ amazing, but too easy. I wish they would have had endgame content or the nemesis system would generate seriously challenging foes
I can probably play this one before the original? I could care less about the LotR lore/story/characters which I find too campy for my liking... I just appreciate the atmosphere/ambience.
I too shelved the first one, but not because I didn't love it. Geralt, then VR showed up to take over my time.
I'm seriously looking forward to finishing the first one out, the feeling of power you have in that game and the attention to the environment is outstanding. And as powerful as you become you can still get mobbed to death if you're not careful.
Opps guess they had to make this official after someone at Target put it up on website by mistake over weekend. Still I will pick this up. First game was fun and this looks pretty good.
I loved the first game and I eagerly await this one. I hope it lives up to the my expectations. My main worry is that it's WB and they are going to fill it with their normal microtransaction BS.

I loved this game but I have to admit I was glad when I finished it. Not sure I can do a second one unless they change up the quest mechanics quite a bit.
I gotta admit I never finished the first one because I got bored of it. It got too repetitive and dull for me, just didn't have enough variety or depth for me. But the combat was excellent, and the game ran extremely well while looking awesome too. This one looks really cool, hope its as exciting as the trailer makes it look. Will definitely give it a try
Man, gotta finish up the first one! I too got wrapped up in other games at the time.
I think I have about 20-25 hours into and I have only recently achieved access to the second main area.
Looks like you get to fight the Nazgul, a Balrog(maybe you can ride them like some of the creatures in the first game?) and maybe Sauron himself?
Be cool if WB authorized a Mad Max sequel. I heard its a no go though, which is shame. I really like that game, and it is repetitive, but it does not feel repetitive. If that makes any sensor or can even be plausible.

I felt the same way about Mad Max as I did SoM, loved the game but was glad when it was done. Just too repetitive. Which is a shame because both games were a real breath of fresh air, they just outstayed their welcome.
Looks like time to revisit the first installment too. Had quite a bit of fun at the start, great gameplay and atmosphere but it slowly got repetitive and draggy so I stopped playing it. Hope this one is better than the previous one.
Morgoth (Melkor) used to have a horde of Balrogs as his personal bodyguards. Those that weren't destroyed went into hiding and slept after Morgoth was defeated and imprisoned in the void, which is explained when the dwarves wake the one in Moria.
