Uh Nintendo Switch reviews are already up? Nice

What I have seen so far is Zelda Breath of the Wild twice getting a 10/10 from both Edge and Famitsu. Which is very impressive since they both are rather conservative with their scores.

I think I really should've preordered a Switch + Zelda

I think its a nice concept but for me that's exactly the problem. It doesn't appeal to me more than the novelty.

The portability aspect of the console was executed beautifully, but I just can't see it being very relevant or useful for myself and a lot of other gamers. The Switch gives up a lot of things in order to achieve that portability, which includes power and value. Now, I'm not expecting amazing graphics on what essentially is a six inch tablet, but I really want the power so that developers feel that its worth the while to create ports or Switch versions. When developers are laughing off creating ports for it, FIFA 2018 not having Frostbyte on the switch, and no Mass Effect: Andromeda, this doesn't give me the confidence that the Switch wont become a second class console when it comes to multiplatform offerings. I do have a PC to play those games, but a console needs to stand by itself in order to be successful.

The Switch's value is also hurt from its portability aspect, I feel. I understand why it costs $300, but regardless it still leaves me feeling a bit shorted when compared to the PS4 and the Xbox One. I can currently go to Target, Walmart, or another big box store and get PS4 bundle for less than the price of the Switch unit that doesn't come with any included games.

I am personally going to wait until the holdays for a price cut or a bundle deal. I am in the process of saving up for a Ryzen system upgrade and a Freesync monitor, so the Switch is going to be left on the back burner for me.

Cancelled my pre order on Amazon today. Heard this is having some hardware/software issues and I'm not going to bother trying to play the guinea pig with the console at launch. If you catch it in time on amazon, you may be able to grab my cancelled sale!

I've been seeing the opposite. It is running pretty well compared to the switch in hand held mode. And they look darn near identical.

My only real gripes: Nintendo again insisted on heavily compressing the soundtrack (sampling rate for the ripped files are also lower on the Wii U version as opposed to the Switch. In bloody mono, no less.). I'm also not a big fan of DLC in any context.

Its otherwise excellent.

Currently IGN has it as a review in progress but if they rated it at this point they would give it a 6.7. A lot of the concerns that people have had seem to be actual issues. The reviewer said he died several times in Zelda due to de-syncing of the joy con which should never happen.

Those issues are known and Nintendo are expected to ship a firmware update shortly to resolve it - or at least that's what the tinterwebs are saying. Some reviewers are also saying their units didn't show the issues.

Still - good thing I decided to hold off for a while and buy it later down the road.

I guess with sony shipping 40 million+ units nintendo cant seemingly compete in the traditional console market so they have created their own niche device, a console that duals as a mobile is a cool concept but why do I feel like nintendo is shooting themselves in the foot here, I think its a very risky business decision on their part..

250€ would have helped, 329 Europe price is pretty expensive when you have deals on ps4 slim one game two controllers for 250€

but this is different i like the concept actually for light play, bed play, camping play....

Zelda saves thing without it would be a disaster, in the long run when more games are out it will probably a sure buy for many people, but the lack of games is seriously bad

Picking mine up in 22hrs, 8am store opening. Wish I had the day off work

Zelda on the bus/at the airport/while flying will be what I'm in it for initially

Expecting it to be lackluster when connected to my 75" but primary use will be as a handheld

Hopefully they can release a decent amount of 1st party titles over the next 12 months. PS4pro & PC are my main gaming platforms so just need enough releases to keep me occupied when playing on the go

Outside of Zelda, got talked into pre ordering some game called 1-2 switch which I'm already quite suspect about... need to see if there are some reviews prior to picking it up

I think Switch will be Nintendo's Dreamcast. I just don't see Wii success repeating, lightning doesn't strike twice and in general today's gamers are passive, they don't want to waggle some silly sticks around, they just want to sit on the couch and play. It's a console made for Japanese people who have small apartments and spend half their day riding the train to work. Sure, it's dope for them, but what about everyone else? And also paid online, really?

Well color me surprised, I am happy to see at least from the reviews of the game that Nintendo made a great Zelda again. My 2 favorite games of all time are Ocarina of Time and A Link to the Past. so this will be a must buy for me at some point in the future. The problem lies in my money atm is saved for a new pc build and imo $300 is too much for the switch and I have concerns about the issues going on with the joy con controllers. However once this system hits $200-250 I will pick it up. The reviews for this game have made me go from a most likely never going to buy this system to will for sure buy it sometime in the future. Well done Nintendo.

The day I can grab a Switch for 200 bucks including this game, is the day I am adding this console to my house to be honest.

I am not in a hurry or anything like that.

I am tempted to play the game though.

Yup, Zelda is one of those games that can't really be spoiled for you and waiting 6 months for Nintendo to iron out all the kinks wont hurt either. Hopefully by then as well there will be more games out for the system. I want some smash bro's, still play Meele and Brawl.

Overall pretty positive about the console. A few software issue that will likely be fixed with various updates and I'm sure the joycon issues will be fixed as well. 3 hours of battery but if you use a portable battery charger you can extend that playtime if you wish.

The portable aspect won't matter to most Americans that don't live in super urban cities like New York but to Europeans and Asians the portable aspect is a huge pull as people like me commute on the subway or a train every day, and we take flights to other European countries when going on vacation or for business, so having such a powerful portable is amazing.

And Zelda seem to be in the running for the best game ever made. I have a Wii U and I wonder how differently it runs on there and what some of the differences are technically.

Will I buy a Switch now? No, I will beat some of my backlog on PC first, but I will likely buy it this year.

Wouldn't it be fantastic if Nintendo revealed at E3 that it has also been developing a new Metroid Prime for the Switch and it will come out in 12-24 months?
