Feel free. I've never denied my illogical fanboyism at times. I bought a 3960X when it came out because I wanted that X even though the 3930K was the obvious smarter choice! Ah, the days when I actually had disposable cash...

And there was me interested to see a reference to your claim.

Can't really justify the price gap to the 1800X personally, though if it were just a bit cheaper I'd probably spring for it just to get the top of the line Ryzen (but $499 is just a bit too steep of a jump from the 1700 for little real benefit).

Im fine with the 1700. Its only temporary till zen 2 comes out anyway and wipes the floor with anything we got out today. Thats how I look at it. Well get to keep our mb and ram too! 1700 will be on ebay someday LOL thumb.gif

Yeah I like Asus boards too. Thankfully I think I made the right choice grabbing the K7 when I did. Asus CH6 seems littered with troubles atm, and this is my first Gigabyte board and so far im very impressed. Once you learn the bios, its actually very easy to use for a manual old school overclocker like me. biggrin.gif

Yeah your storage is mental! I wanted a 5960X so damn bad when they released but i couldn't swing the upgrade to X99 so I'm stuck with this ancient 4930K for a while longer. Will replace it with a 1700X and CHVI and then take a look at Skylake-E when it comes out. Maybe Intel will relax their pricing a bit considering how well Ryzen does.
