Card arrive 30 minutes ago. Clean installed Nvidia Drivers and cleared all my Afterburner settings. Time to overclock! thumb.gif

Interesting. I have never been able to go past 225 on my TXP's which are also under water.

Is it like 980ti where past like 60C the clock takes a hit, but serious throttling really doesn't set in until those 80c+ temps?

 

 

Personally I don't think I could stand FE cooler on air. I had 980ti MSI AIB and even then it was loud.

Pascal blower fan is actually quiter than one used in maxwell.

Regardless you can throw hybrid cooler on and will be better than any fan cooled 1080

If nothing else I made my suggestion trying to helps others. What's your assessment of my intention?

I'm willing to say that it will help to the tune of ˜10C at 100% TDP for those that want to tackle it. If you don't see a good improvement you're doing something wrong plain and simple.

YOU are questioning other's claims, the claimed thermal conductivity ratings of the paste vs LM (which has upwards of 7 times greater thermal conductivity rating) all while suggesting that the difference is only 1-3C. How is the burden of proof is on me?

I frankly looks more and more that you are trying to justify to yourself why you're leaving 10C on the table by falsely discouraging others that may want to try it. If it's for the inherent risk factor, personal ability and electrical conductivity reasons associated with LM I get it but otherwise please stop with the unsubstantiated naysay.

I have mine on an AIO and I get max temps at 62C. I notice the core drops like 25 Mhz once I go past 60C. Kind of annoying... But I have to use a copper shim inbetween my H55 and GPU, so that's why it doesn't get kept at 55C.
