I'm going to upgrade my monitor setup eventually to either 1440p or 4k. Probably 4k now that I should have the horsepower to handle it. But for the time being I'm going to be using DSR or Surround to alleviate the CPU bottlenecks I'll face with my 4770k.

you got that 4770k on a z97? if so, get a broadwell i7-5775c and end cpu bottlenecks ( 128mb HUGE L4 cache)

Nah still on z87 with it. Planning on doing a whole refresh later this year. I do have a z97 mini-itx board but this 4770k will be going into that rig with my 980 to be a portable VR machine.
