NVIDIA GTX 1080 Ti Owner's Club - Page 126

OC performance seems a bit lackluster... I was comparing my card to some of the benches posted in this thread and even though my max average boost with +130 offset on water is just ~1950 MHz, I'm only seeing scores about 2% lower than most of what's been posted here from users with ~2050 MHz boost clocks.

Overclocking seems uninteresting on Pascal... just make sure you have temps in check and the card itself gets much closer to its maximum performance than I've ever seen from another architecture. Disappointing, to be honest. But I guess that's what Nvidia's end goal is for its GPU boost technology.

NOT WORTH IT biggrin.gif

If you're not going water, the noise and temperature benefit alone would make that an easy $40 for me to give up. Chances are the 39dB rating for the FE cooler is based on the stock fan curve (read max of 50%) fan.

also going from 2080 to 2100 will yield maybe 2 fps if you're lucky

Generally what is the turn around time from order to shipping from the nvidia store? Same day if ordered early in the morning?

You are right its semantics, but when I say a card running 2100mhz, i mean staying there...

my card now does 2083mhz but i consider it running 2050 because that is where it stays.

Can somebody tell me is any sense to buy Gtx 1080 ti reference? Any happy owners here?
I will ignore noise. But how about high temps and clock throttling?

I already sold my Gtx 1080 Xtreme.
My monitor is Yijama Black Hawk 1080p 60hz 1 MS.
I know weak,but in future i buy 1440p 144hz monitor.

If you are serious about being able to ignore noise then the reference card is OK. It's just going to be really loud because you need 70%+ fan speed to avoid serious temperature throttling. I would just wait for the STRIX or another custom card unless you are either putting the card under water or into an ITX rig.

The heatkiller backplate does have thermal pads for 3 components on the board. I doubt this would make or break anything but it looks good and im a huge fan of the sleek look so i grabbed one for my heatkiller TXP block. Great block, 44C with the card deciding to self boost to 1900mhz it seems.
