I run at 29-38C at 20-24C ambients.

I could imagine my card doing 2100 with lower load temps in the 17-25C range. In fact I'm "Valley" stable at 2100 right now so could claim it if I was dishonest. I test my OC's religiously with multiple benches, games, etc before I can claim to be remotely solid. I'm talking looping the bench for 15min-30min to get an idea and then some more to confirm stability. I do not allow crashes, driver recoveries, dips or even hiccups. For me it has to work 100% or it's a failed OC in my book. Besides unsustained boost clocks, I bet many let a lot of the above slide when stating clocks.

I'm stable through Valley at 2100 but in the Heaven benchmark both my 2088 and 2100 bins crash or fail.

This in the past, for me has usually signified that I will crash in regular use, in a game, sometime in the near future. In multiplayer, when it happens this SUCKS! So I cannot claim 2100 or even 2088 as stable. Not at 30C anyway. 5-10C Lower, I'm willing to bet I'd fly right on through.

I don't think for a minute that 2100 is a clock wall so much as a wall of diminishing returns, If somebody has a water chiller or wants to drop their AIO in an ice bucket, I encourage you on!!! I don't and this rig has to travel ever so often but I would love to see some sub ambient numbers from somebody.

I'm willing to call this more stable than the Hardware 3D card bouncing off the rev limiter but despite being close, just as with theirs, not a stable 2100 in my book. Would have loved to be at 2100 on a single din AIO with room temp ambients, but sadly it's unlikely to happen. At least not with my card.

On a side note, Heaven for me has more often than not been the Achilles heel. It's been my go to for OC'ing cards. If I can loop heaven, I know I'm more than likely good to go explore elsewhere. Valley seems to be the easiest of the big 4 to loop for me. Opinions and results may vary.

yeah, if i freeze or crash or bog down, i fix it. it isnt stable. cinebench loops for cpus and heaven loops for gpus will let you know the real deal.

looks like most top out at 150, some can get a few more. some top out at 135. i'd start around 100. and, hell, just shove 400 on the mem to start. i will say this, i settled in at +250 mem, +155core and havent crashed at that 155 since i lowered the memory from 500. did freeze in heaven before that. so it was eith +145c +500 mem, or +155c and +250 mem. for now im on the latter.

Most stable i got without touching the voltage while playing games is +175 on the core and +600 on the memory. Not sure if touching the voltage is worh it.

EDIT: For those wondering about ultrawide performance, this card is absolutely amazing thumb.gif

Ok I'll step it up on MEM

I so sad redface.gif

So my monitor is a X-Star 2560x1440 with only a DVI port. This monitor is capable of up to 130Hz with out it skipping frames. I used to run it @ 120hz with no problems and now with a active Display Port to DVI adapter i cant get above 75Hz. mad.gif

I cant game at less then 120Hz, it hurts me eye's man.

Probably going to just sell it with a the water block. idk

I need a card with A DVI port so i'll probably wait for the strix or some other custom pcb card that will get a waterblock. I have been eyeballing that strix though, hope someone make's a block for it.

Thinking of just forgetting going with an aib and just grab an FE. Too bad its just out of stock everywhere.

Might just get all the vrm/heatsyncs and aio stuff for now to be ready for whenever I can snag one.

Ok so can someone explain to me the "throttling" that's happening?

I put a +100 offset on the core clock, power at 120%.

Heaven starts out at 1974mhz. Then drops to 1962,1949,1936, before settling at 1924. Temps maxed out at 73c. So despite that even with a +100, the card was running at 1924mhz. Why?

Cards start throttling at 60C and higher temps go more they throttle, hence clocks going down more and more. redface.gif

Why I'm going water cooling, EK block and backplate ordered, to be here by Wednesday of next week. With water you should always be under 60C. biggrin.gif

Ohh

I thought cards started throttling at 70c?

That clears up some things
