So I got my 1080TI went to run 3D mark on it (I got 405!), why because it will only run on the Intel Decelerated montior (primary).
I have 2 monitors 4K running off the GTX 1080 Ti (use to be GTX 1070), I upgraded for CUDA, as much as anything, but I can not even run anything on the 1080, as every stupid program run using the Intel chip (which I have active on a secondary display as I also need QuickSync so I have to have at least one monitor atteched. How do I choice to run using the Nvidia GTX 1080 TI, and not on the Intel POS, as everything wants to use teh Intel and nothing allows me to chose. Previously withe th GTX 1070, I never had this issue before. I want to stress test, but do nopt want to mess with settings as this HTPC is finally working, all I want is to chose which monitor and card is used for testing.
I want to mention that CUDA-Z works, a does GPU-Z and MADvr, but not a single benchmark uses the 1080 TI, or even lets me chose it. Any suggestion how to make Windows and software suck less and allow me to run it on the secondary screen, which is where I normally do anything that uses a GPU?
The probem with both on the 1080 or even 1070 is of course that they are both HDMI and active DP->HDMi adapter all fail to work at 4K so I end up with a 4K monitor used only for text at 1080 (talk about a waste), so by using the Nvidia for monitor used for games/Video work and non-stressful things say browsing on the Intel everything is4k/4K without issues. Do not even get me started on how much I've wasted on "Active" 4K DP->HDMI adapters I have 4 or 5 different one over $120 spent not one is stable at 4K 60P, 40K 30P 422 mostly, but that is not acceptable for work either.
Decided to remove monitor (so only the Nvidia 4K is connected), rebooted, I now get a blistering 1542 in 3D mark, so that is 3x more and 1/10 what I should, so unimpressed, all the same. I have 378.78 installed, reinstalled (rebooted), same thing. GPU-Z (1.18), shows that even 4D-Mark does not change the 721Mhz clock speed, so that could exmplain somethin, Memory was 202.5Mhz during a run.
