Gotcha, thanks for clarifying thumb.gif

If you are using no scaling or aspect ratio, that could be why. or make sure your custom rez is a properly scaled aspect ratio (ie 4000x2250 is a proper 16:9), then you can use "aspect ratio" setting. ive found that works best.

Figured it out! it was the HDR mode in game that caused the problem. So turned that off and now have 1440p working. Will test to see how it runs.

Put my Ek block on the other day using a Liquid Metal Pad. My temps were in the high 50s. mad.gif

Took it all back apart today and found that the pad had fused properly to the die but was not making any contact to the EK block. Fortunately I had some leftover Conductonaut. Slathered some of that right over the thermal pad and dropped my temps almost 20C. wheee.gif

Was able to get a my Timespy overall above 10K. (too bad it wasn't valid)

Just going through some games now. Satisfied with DS3, stays relatively at 60fps. I can actually play SFV @5k. Not necessarily a demanding game, but nevertheless awesome. Odd situation with The Division. Frames lock at 18 fps for some reason. I'll go through the settings, but it seems to be a bug...its Ubi so who knows. Testing For Honor right now.

I hear you!

I have to play Wildlands and ME Andromeda @ 1440p with ultra settings to get decent frame rates, both run like total Shi!t @ 4k. with frames dropping down into the 30's mad.gif

Battlefield 1 was a nice welcome back to SLI. Flickering problems all over the place.

Loaded up Rise of the Tomb Raider. Haven't played it in months. Threw everything on Ultra including AA (SSAA 4x) and was still able to pull avg of 66 fps. Image Quality was insane. Certain games like that which I have a good SLI profile I'll activate the second card for extra eye candy, but for the majority of the time, SLI will probably be disabled. A single card is stupid fast for just about any game at 1440p.

This card doesn't come with a factory fan. So...

...I am curious if anyone has added a 1080 GTX EK or aftermarket waterblock to a 1080 "ti" ?

I want to buy the 1080ti, move the zotac block onto the 1080ti (it's a great block) and put the 1080ti fan onto the zotac 1080 card and resell -- obviously at a discount smile.gif

massive thanks .wirefox thumb.gif

Anyone have thougths. maybe I'll start a new thread.

I think the FE is adequate. I keep her at 50% fan speed maximum, and to me that's pretty quiet, 79c maximum temp limit. Still not even using half of my 4790k. No CPU bottleneck here. Maybe not clocking to 2Ghz, but I get some high 1800's and low 1900's here and there. But average is probably around 1700.
