I see yeah you have to get the evga hybrid to keep the stock shroud then

That's pretty good for air but getting waterblock is definitely the way to go.
I tested 2 1080Ti's on air when i was deciding if I'm going to keep SLI or not and two of them sound like a hurricane lol

Dont really see power exceed 112%, I assume there's a backstop within pascal to operate within its own thermal limits despite what the setting is in afterburner.

That being said, it pegs at 2063 and peaks at 41% on the diode, all in relative silence.

On the plus side, I have this thing for VR, which is notorious for GPU utilization < 100%, so the core speeds should hit target without running afoul of pascal's power limit.

Is it stable at those clocks ?
Those cards seem to be hitting 2ghz + fairly easily, there's tomshardware review of WC 1080Ti that talks about the power limit issue.
In this review they hit 2.1 but it's being hampered by the power limit.

On the Arctic Cooling website: https://www.arctic.ac/eu_en/products/cooling/vga.html

The Hybrid II and Hybrid III lists compatibility with 1080ti, even though they are flat aswell.

I will send them an email to confirm.

That's probably without the shroud but I could be wrong

So far so good - havent had any signs of instability yet, but ive only been tinkering for an hour. In something like 3d11 it has no dramas at 2075 (so obviously I'll push for 2100) but in firestrike extreme it's pegging back to 2062 and even 2038.

Dont get me wrong, 3,584 cuda cores > 2000Mhz is suitable for my needs, but the power management seems to present a fairly hard limit with even a modest overclock. I think with the stock blower it was topping out at about 1900Mhz when left to its own devices. Guess I could flex the fan curves on the radiators to try and bring the core temps down but my observations are consistent with tomshardware - power likes to sit around 112% regardless.

My firestrike results are similar to those posted above, albeit i have a slightly lower cpu ratio.

im pretty sure it was the adapter, the scan lines make me think so b/c you said it was an active adapter.

yeah, that's something like 5-8c it appears. VERY NICE!!
