No, I'm on Optimal.

SLI on/off shouldn't make a difference either as only the display gpu would see usage (unless W10 uses sli on the desktop)

Yep, doesn't matter on my end. I can remember this issue going all the way back to my SLI 580s when I had a 120hz monitor.

It's only for mGPU that I see it.

I got no issues with a dual and tri sli 1080ti config. Behaves exactly the same as prior my prior titan x (maxwell and pascal) and 1080 dual and tri sli config. for me. Currently have two panels off of it. Only time clocks seem to remain locked at high is when i set nvidia control panel to maximum performace until i restart.

Ok, I was wondering about this. Thanks for the input, I am looking to get 2 of these myself. I will be making my decision soon, depends how much longer I have to wait for the ICX upgrade Program. I am not going to WC these cards, so FE is out of the question for me. I might just do the ICX upgrade, then wait for Volta.......who knows how long that will be.

Depends upon the resolution of the two monitors as well. My primary card will not downclock at idle if I run both screens at full resolution. I am using a Samsung 4k monitor and a Dell 34" WS @ 3440 x 1440. I have to drop the rez on the 4k monitor, then it will downclock primary gpu.

This is with sli Titans but they are close enough to the Ti's I think in this regard.

Will look again but this is with my 3440 x1440 rog 100hz panel and a 4k tv (not monitor) and behaved as expected. Though this was with the 1080s and not the titan xp or now 1080tis so my curiosity is now piqued and will give it a try when possible. What resolution did you need to drop down too?

It seems I may have gotten lucky and found a GTX 1080 ti available directly from PNY's website. I've never purchased a PNY product before. What are everyone's thoughts on the brand?

One thing I'm noticing on these cards that I did not notice on my GTX1080 is that once the power limit is hit a few times it triggers a TDP throttle where the card won't go above like 50-60 percent TDP. It'll maintain the clock speeds I set, but frames will be low and TDP is cut in half.

I've heard claims about lower build quality with PNY. But most most of those claims were from around 2005. I hope it's better now.
