NVIDIA GTX 1080 Ti Owner's Club - Page 211

I've joined the club!! I've had my Nvidia 1080Ti FE for about a week and so far I am loving it. I have not overclocked it yet, but did have to turn up the fan to about 70% to keep it below 70C during gaming. I can't hear the fan with my headset on, but without it's definitely audible.

I've been toying with the idea of building a fully watercooled loop for years and finally decided to pull the trigger. My EK block and back plate is on the way along with the other components and I hope to be up and running this weekend.

Anything would be insightful =)

My two Titan XM's at 1405/8000 were in timespy about 16%faster than a 2050mhz 1080ti. And I'd imagine that's a best case scenario for the performance difference when it comes to SLI enabled games. And reviews show the card doing upwards of around 2x in some games vs a 980ti. So it's pretty much right near that 2x depending on how each card setup is overclocked.

Very interesting indeed...

So it looks like regardless of what GPU-Z etc. state, I'm not really running the 4x cards in PCI-E 3.0 because the 3970X's micro-code (or whatever) does not support it? It also seems like a Win 10 issue - I'm not sure I want to go back to Win 7 tbh - I play BF and GTA mostly and I'm not sure how well they run on Win 7.

I'm not really looking to upgrade the CPU atm so I'll probably just wait for Skylake-E...

In the meantime, really would like to get this setup to work properly - if that's possible. FWIW, even 3-Way scales rather poorly at 5K which is quite surprising. The main rig scales phenomenally well @ 5K in almost all games with 4-Way. Definitely related to the CPU/platform methinks...

For S&G, ever seen <60FPS with 4-Way GTX 1080 Ti? biggrin.gif

I did, for the first time, last night:

His usage is a joke prob same results with 2 cards no CPU going to drive quad Ti properly in game like that even my 1080 SLI would be held back at times with 5960x.

Yea ive been playing BF1 that seems much better at stability testing over heaven and firestrike. I eventually locked up in BF1 at 2063.
I'm with you now at 2050 played like 4 hours and all seems good *Knock on wood* im still on air and max 75c my core stable at 2025Mhz.

Also throttle points are not same as nvidia. The MSI is keeping a higher boost at same core increase/temps than i could with the nvidia model.

Ill be putting on hybrid when EVGA makes official Ti version. I had them on my 1080s and they ran so much better when kept cool.

Thanks for the replies guys. Looks like I got everything I should have.

Reason I'm asking is because I got the feeling my card was used before. The foam on the heatsink plastic looked like it was put there for the second time, the box was damaged and the serial number sticker had it's corner lifted up a bit as can be seen on the pictures. I'm probably nitpicking but I hate these things when it comes to a 800 euro's graphics card.

Seriously how hard is it for EVGA to stick their serial number sticker in the empty space right under nvidia's and not across back plate

edit

Also you can see serial number on PCIE

Just ordered the Asus ROG Strix from a local online store. It's not expected to ship until April 3rd but I'm happy to wait. Pre-ordered Mass Effect Andromeda to go along with it; new beast card and the latest instalment from one of my favourite series = thumb.gif

I do have my CPU, 5960X at 4.6GHZ with decent voltages one older overvolted Maxwell Titan X as dedicated PhysX and my 1980 Ti on a 360 rad but the Titan X is always at low volts and clocks being a PhysX card so I don't think it'll affect my temps much.

As long as my 1090 Ti is under 60C I'm good!! Probably be well under 50C while benching with Heaven. biggrin.gif
ah, the ole Titan physX card. tongue.gif:thumb:

just played about 5 hours of it in 4k HDR. Man, the HDR is awesome. really really nice. Not sure hoe hooked on the gameplay i am but the gunplay is a lot better (after an initial breaking in period). Ti keeps frames in the 50s+ with everything on ultra+(custom to get full ultra).

Anyone else order from frys? I ordered Saturday morning caught one msi in stock and my delivery date is tomorrow but still haven't received tracking. This is getting out of hand. Nvidia just holding them back to keep the buzz on. Like when bars and clubs have a line form outside then when u get in theres no one. I hope vega steps up just for consumers sake.
