Glad to hear that.

So I heard this 1080 Ti bottleneck by 7700K CPU @ 5Ghz... on 1080p and 1440p res. in some games.

I guess this is the last GPU I ever needed while still running 3930k.

Super happy to hear it didn't work for you. Hate when people do that.

Haha. They've sold many of thousands? Source? Let me know where you read that info then get back to me. You clearly don't get it. I was asking a question for someone who's ordered from frys. Your reply helped zero not sure why I'm still entertaining this. You'll be alright tho. thumb.gif

Well damn, if 5Ghz is bottle-necking this card then I'm just stupid for owning one with my measly 4.3ghz. biggrin.gif

i get a kick out of people who say that. it's like they just can't fathom the concept of just moving up in resolution to give their poor, tired cpu's a break.. All these outdated cpu's would be just fine in 4k.

got a couple of these badboys on the way

What kind of numbers can you expect on air? I think I got a dud overclocker, it only does +125 Mhz core and +550 memory. The boost is around to 1900 or so for the core, but I haven't tried running the fans at a constant 70-100% or anything else to see if it goes higher. If my card is that anemic, I dunno if it isn't worth bothering with a hybrid kit once they are finally released. Well it depends on what I do with my 1080 - I could sell it with the hybrid kit installed for more $, or try adapting my existing 1080 hybrid kit to my 1080Ti, although the memory layout is different on the 1080 vs the 1080 Ti.

e

My card is a similar kind of dud and I still put a hybrid kit on it (though I didn't spend money... just re-used my Titan X Maxwell kit) just so I could have silence and zero temperature limitation. Glad I'm not the only one with a +120-130 max core clock.

550 mem is good though! My card doesn't like going above 475. I have it set to 464 to have a little buffer. Core I'm @ 135. biggrin.gif
