You are correct my friend. I have the original back plate on my Titan XP. You can only use two screws on the front plate but it's totally secure. Need to check to see if the original screws are identical in thread count and length. I like the original back plate better than the plain one from EKWB.
I prefer the look of the EK backplate myself.
Leak testing my QDC prefilled waterblock 24 hours,then slapping it on with the backplate on my 1080 Ti.
Oh, and check some posts here about peeps using a few extra thermal pads on their EK blocks that the stock cooler has by default. Seems like a good idea, I will be using them for sure.
