Also, I plan on water cooling for sure. Is the FE the best card for this? Or should I relax and wait for say, EVGA SC model?

Was going to suggest this. Was how I got so lucky to get 2 of my 1080s before some people even got their first tongue.gif.

Still patiently waiting until EVGA announces or puts a standard iCX 1080 Ti on step-up redface.gif.

2050 at 1.000V and 500+ on mem, that is completely decent?

With tht sort of undervotage, max TDP under gaming/folding etc. does not go over 90%. So my card are using 225 watts under full OC. :-D

How does one undervolt like this?

Hello Guys,

May I share with you my experience with the new 1080ti FE smile.gif I have set a custom fan profile in MSI afterburner rised the power limit and the temp limits to the max (120/90) and started to overclock. I succed to +120 on the core. Haven't touch the memory yet, just want to see the core first. It is stable so far in benchmarks and real games. The temp goes to 80 degrees and the fan speed to 70%. It is a little loud indeed, but at least doesn't trottles much. Keeps GPU speed at ~ 1975Mhz. Actually I have noticed that:

1. the GPU clock starts under load at 2000Mhz
2. when the core temp goes to ~60 the core clock changes to ~1984
3. when the temp goes to ~ 70 the core clocks changes once again to ~ 1976

What do you think, is that normal? I think thet the card doesn't clocks well. Even when I speed the fan to 90% cannot clock the core more than +120. It is not stable. Because the card brand is Asus is it possible that MSI AB cannot clock it well ? I stil lcan return it in the 14th day period to the seller.

On air +120 is my max too, with pascal every 10c in temp drops the clocks by around 12-13mhz.

You need to be under water to hold 2000+mhz stable.

Hi!

The curve function in MSI afterburner for an example. :-)

The downside is that the voltage does need to be locked with "L". Making it going on a constant 1.000V. But it is not an issue at all. Def. worth the 75 watt decrease under load for a 30 watt increase when Idle. I do not let my machine idle. It is either folding, or gaming. So for me it does not have anything to say.

Where are the AIB cards? Any updates? It is already the 23rd. This whole FE nonsense that NVidia pulls is pissing me off.

Agreed! This is what happens when you are unchallenged by competition for too long.
