Hmm, I can try returning this kit and getting another one. Or I have an unopened NZXT X62 for my CPU (waiting for the bracket) - but I suppose this wouldn't make good contact with the GPU out of the box, maybe a shim needed?

Seriously? You were at 43C and now you're over 60C? If this pump theory is true (my pump was a dud and yours died in a week) then that would lower my confidence about the hybrid kit by quite a lot

I'm running a H55 in push-pull on mine and it was at around 62-65C with Noctua 1500 RPM fans until I got new Noctua 2000 RPM fans and my temperatures are now at 58-60C... Running these damn fans at max is annoying though. I'm going to change over to a x41 Kraken and see if I get an improvement.
Stock EVGA fan at 100% would top out at around 59C, but it's loud as hell. Noctua NF-F12 PWM at 100% is roughly 60C after I changed the TIM and about half as loud.
