You'll be looking at about 120fps in modern AAA games with all graphics turned up to ultra. I see some dips to 100fps in Battlefield 1 but it's normally above 115 consistently.

I can second that. I mostly play GTAV and The Division for modern titles but in both cases I pretty much have a locked 120fps. Any drops below that are usually a CPU bottleneck at this point. With the framerate unlocked I've seen it settle closer to 200 in lightweight areas so I imagine with a more modern CPU you could comfortably push for a steady 144 or 165 with a setting or two off.

What CPU are you running? I'm pretty sure mine isn't the bottleneck for my system, I'll re-review some logs when I get a chance.

Is that with one or two 1080ti's? I hope with one biggrin.gif

Should be higher then that. I never drop below 100fps with Bf1 Ultra at 3440x1440 with a pair of 980Ti's. I'd expect a pair of 1080ti's on a 2560x1440 to be in the 160's+

Sorry for the confusion guys.

I responded to someone saying a single 1080 Ti would bring 140+ on modern games. I was saying that with a single card I see around 120 fps.

I see how confusing that was since the original request was for SLI. Ignore me...

uh, yes.

Maybe YOUR cpu cant produce it perhaps but i am getting over 135 in almost everything. Battlefield one, rainbow six siege , and can keep 60 fps at 4k in them all, too. if you are getting dips to 100 in BF1, your cpu is the issue. i never dip below 135 (well, in Ameins im sure i did but not into the teens even), even in 64 man Operations multiplayer maps. Ultra everything.
But, I do have the best gaming cpu. I would be surprised it is that much better, though. what cpu do you have?

edit: i see you are saying you average 115. that is more believable because in normal gpu bound testing i usually get an extra 20-25 fps in 1440p over a 4790k/6700k so that matches up here as well. 115+20=135.

You boys need to find a 5775c like I did. best decision I've made in pc world in a minute.

Maybe one day I'll be as great as you. For now, I'll just post benchmarks.

Edit: looks like you added to your post. CPU is my trusty dusty 4790k OC'd to 4.6GHz. Max usage around 80% in BF1. OCing to 4.8GHz is stable but yields no FPS gain.

It's unlikely that it's my CPU.
