seriously I thought my 4790K was more than I need.
Lol don't be. Don't just blindly trust a guy whose best evidence is "my eyes reckon its better" and a link to a thread full of potential confirmation bias lol.
Do some deeper digging, I personally am very skeptical of gains in the 10FPS region on CPU alone but hey, skepticism is what improves the robustness of the evidence to prove something.
I mean, even when I see OC results from people around OCN. I take it with a grain of salt and assume everything is 5% lower simply because it is in human nature to exaggerate.
Enquire further and do directed questions at as many people as possible, preferably ones with no vested interest in defending their purchase decisions.
For the record, I'm not saying the 5775c dude is wrong, but I'm saying to broaden your scope before you go out to spend money.
As a followup: I found some reasonably reliable data.
From what I can tell trawling through the Crystallwell owners thread, the 5775c derives its performance from the low latency of the Crystalwell coupled with HEDT class Bandwidth.
In your usage scenario, the 5775c may achieve an increase in FPS to reach 120 FPS. But you may also get similar results from faster RAM, this is a really tough call to make.Edited by Dasboogieman - 3/30/17 at 5:41am
