No way. SLI is a crapshoot

Both games you're playing support it with great results and scaling. Sometimes you have to pay to play the way you want tongue.gif.

Lol don't be. Don't just blindly trust a guy whose best evidence is "my eyes reckon its better" and a link to a thread full of potential confirmation bias lol.
Do some deeper digging, I personally am very skeptical of gains in the 10FPS region on CPU alone but hey, skepticism is what improves the robustness of the evidence to prove something.
I mean, even when I see OC results from people around OCN. I take it with a grain of salt and assume everything is 5% lower simply because it is in human nature to exaggerate.

Enquire further and do directed questions at as many people as possible, preferably ones with no vested interest in defending their purchase decisions.

For the record, I'm not saying the 5775c dude is wrong, but I'm saying to broaden your scope before you go out to spend money.

As a followup: I found some reasonably reliable data.

http://techreport.com/review/28751/intel-core-i7-6700k-skylake-processor-reviewed

From what I can tell trawling through the Crystallwell owners thread, the 5775c derives its performance from the low latency of the Crystalwell coupled with HEDT class Bandwidth.
In your usage scenario, the 5775c may achieve an increase in FPS to reach 120 FPS. But you may also get similar results from faster RAM, this is a really tough call to make.

Yeah, Haswell and up is not bottlenecking a Ti or TXP. If it is, the performance difference isn't enough to warrant a side grade to the tune of $350-ish.

Sorry if this has been discussed before, but I want to buy a waterblock from EK for my 1080ti FE and I don`t know if it is necessary a backplate too or I can just leave it without it. Thanks for your helps, I am very limited by the budget right now and I was hoping I could use the card without a backplate.

No need for a back plate, it's just nice to have for bling and protect the pcb and components.

You're not running those games maxed out if you're holding 60 with single Ti. GTA fully maxed out at 4K with 8xAA brings 1080 Ti SLI way below 60fps Mass effect Andromeda can't hold 60 with a single card at 4K either. fully maxed out, got my own benchmark videos to confirm it as well.

8xAA seems a bit overkill @ 4K imho. The higher the base resolution the less need for costly AA methods. Also higher DSR might be an alternative since it definitely anti-aliases everything.

Btw, am I the only one who doesn't want 140 fps but rather 30 fps @ 5K-8K resolution ?? That's my reason why I just got 2.
