of course not. it's a $350 4 core. but if all you care about is gaming, than why not? you could get a 5775c/z97mobo and another 1080ti off the money made from that cpu, AND have change. And more fps...wink.gif

Wow, only took them ten years, lol.
Another 10 for MSI Armor to show on Amazon, and another 50 until EVGA SC does. :sonic:

These guys had the 5775c in their test. 7700k won 5 of 7 vs it including minimums.

The feels when my 7600k goes to 5.2ghz instead of 4.5

It's awful. I'll see if I can get some pics. It's blown out contrast and flickering. Immediately going back to a single card removes this and it works as expected.

Edit - Are you using a specific profile in Inspector? You don't have the flickering but it kind of looks like the overblown contrast is there...

At stock, the 5775c is at a huge disadvantage with about 800mhz less clock speeds, but the 7700k only beats the 5775c by 1 or 2 fps on average. At OC speeds the 5775c beats the 7700k handily, even with 800mhz less speeds. Clock for clock, the 5775c clearly beats the 7700k on almost every game, except Crysis 3.
The second link has a 6700k. We can draw estimates for the 7700k too since both CPUs perform equally clock for clock.

Sorry, I didn't even see the OC results there.

But even after having read them, I can't agree with some of your conclusions above. Here's the two reasons why.

6 of 10 games in the OC test end up within less than 2 fps difference. That's well within the margin of error for the test.

The overall average of all 10 games sees the 5775c at 86.5 fps and 7700k at 85.0 fps.

So while it in no way beats the 7700k handily or clearly, it does indeed beat it.

And quite frankly, that impresses the heck out of me. The 5775c is a beast worthy of respect.

I agree. There can be some real differences in results sometimes that boggle my mind.

My conclusion is fair. 5775c is a beast that deserves respect. And a 1080 Ti with that respect too. thumb.gif

Anyone on the fence about mounting a x41 can rest assured, I'm getting 42C with 100% fan load and 45C with 50% fan speed.

Hitting 2088 easily now. Can do half a run on heaven at 2101Mhz but once temperatures go to 40s, I go down to 2088.

it's just tiresome. i was called a liar from the start. It's all good, i know what i have and was only trying to help other people know. some are on z97 mobos right now and have no idea what they could be running. Glad you researched it. It is a very impressive thing for a z97 on ddr3 to tie a 7700k in gaming. they are inded the two champs and both are beasts.

I am glad that some see it though. Im proud to have discovered and own a 5775c , and a 1080ti for that matter, it's a nasty combo.
