NVIDIA GTX 1080 Ti Owner's Club - Page 298

Just for comparison, FE on stock air cooler 100% fan, 7700K@5.1Ghz, 32GB 3200CL15 RAM, 378.78 driver, Win10 64bit:

Time Spy: 9624, Graphics 10584, CPU 6359
Firestrike Ultra 1.1: 7574, Graphics 7622, Physics 16415, Combined 4084
Firestrike Extreme 1.1: 14216, Graphics 15576, Physics 16397, Combined 7667

Regarding the somewhat off-topic discussion about 5775C vs 7700K, in my experience, with both overclocked, u get higher max framerates with the 7700K and also often higher average framerates but the minimum framerates and average framerates in RAM intensive games like Arma 3, all Total War games are better with the 5775C.

So it's essentially max frame rates for shooters the 7700K, higher minimum framerates for simulation and strategy games with the 5775C.

Good looking out guess my voltage was at 50. changed that to 100 I can now get to 2088 on heaven stable. if I push to 2100 I crash but power percentage max 114% and 113% on each card. that mean theres more room to work with?

edit: at 2100 I'm reaching limit on 3d mark and crashes so I guess 2088 is where it stands for these. one hits power limit the other hovers around 114%

well the only variable on the last disassemble was the paste.

I wasn't able to play stable at 1900 for long (which was really not good). the only thing I did is open the card, clean it well on those res/cap, put back new paste but not too much and I can now game a 2000 no problem with the same game. adn even bench higher which was impossible before.
Temps where the same, actually I was not going over 49 when it crash and now I reach 53 because I can game long enought to buid heat in the system.

I do find that weird but I don't see another variable on that last dismantle of the card. and a gain of 150mhz and stability.

So was trying GTA 5 yesterday to figure out the issue with low GPU usage. It jumps around from anything between 46% to 99%, vsync is off and FPS is between 46 and 120 at 3440x1440.

The only way for me to get consistent GPU usage is by using the frame scaling option and set it to 0.87 or something. Is the 1080 Ti being bottlenecked? My 4790k is running at 4.8.

You can also be bottlenecked by RAM /speed in GTA 5, especially when there is a lot of texture streaming going on.

I do have ****ty DDR3-1600 RAM but it was never an issue before with my 980 Ti and Ghost recon runs great.
Well, the 1080Ti will be about 60-80% faster I guess. It's not really surprising that the 1600Mhz RAM can't keep up all the time.

If I can somehow confirm it's the RAM I will go get a faster stick.
