Glad I made my point though wink.gif

Hopefully that can save some money on people doing useless upgrades.

Unfortunately i tried that as well. will do some more tinkering tonight. now that i know how to adjust the graph faster, smh.

Wow! wish i knew that last night spent so much time adjusting each one.. mad.gif

I came from Maxwell as well Titan X.

First i set my overclock to +151 core offset and power / voltage slider maxed. 2050Mhz

Then you go to the next voltage bin below that (1.043v) in my case and add +13

Then do that all the way down to .963v

you can even try to run in my case 2050Mhz @ 1.031v and 1.025v bin so when it throttles from power or heat it will drop voltage but keep the 2050Mhz.

Has anyone been able to dump a BIOS from their 1080Ti yet? I've yet to find one 'in the wild' and would like to start writing a program to dump all of the power limits, fan speeds, etc. from them.
Looks like GPU-Z doesn't work with the 1080Ti yet, but hopefully someone can dump one with NVFlash and upload it somewhere.

Also, interesting reading from the MSI 1080Ti review on Guru3d. Like all the reviewers so far there have been no mention about TDP targets, adjustability, or what any of the actual numbers are, but...
They do show a picture of Afterburner with the power limit slider maxed out, and even on air the card runs right up against its 117% TDP limit and power throttles.

Looks like I have to hold out for a review of the Gigabyte card - I have high hopes for its 12+2 phase VRM design.

http://www.guru3d.com/articles_pages/msi_gtx_1080_ti_gaming_x_review,30.html

Anyone have any guesses what the base TDP target is? They've traditionally been pretty generous on that front, with the 1080 Gaming X having 230w instead of the default 180w of the FE cards.

If they gave the 1080Ti an extra 50w too, that'd be 300w, and 300w + 17% is almost exactly 350w, a nice round number...

And flat after that

I noticed the following when firestrike crashes:

Power 113%
Temp 50C
2050Mhz
1.05V

Which then goes to

Power 40%
Temp 47C
2063 Mhz
1.081V

Currently an FE card with full fans going when benching. Possibly thermal throttling? I am going to get an EK block when they come out with the 1080Ti branded ones.

Do 2033 at 1.032 to 1.050 and then add up from there. You need to get more voltage before 2050, which is where you're crashing.

If anything, it can possibly be dumped in linux(ive done it with maxwell, not pascal) if your willing to do a linux install. There may be similar ways to do it in windows, but I haven't looked

Took a bit to find one that worked but due to an unfortunate hard drive wipe I lost the one that worked and not quite sure to be honest. I know it was one of the latest ones you don't need the certificate signed thingy I think it was. This post is from a month or so ago, I just edited it, copied and pasted the info.

Interesting. Guess it doesnt require support for the card to dump, just support for the EEPROM if an older version worked.
