Wish I could have joined this round of fun, but I am waiting for GDDR6 or HBM2 with next year round up, and DDR5 is rumored to be out next year as well overtaking DDR4 ram slots with double the bandwidth... hopefully early 2019 at the latest, until then my laptop will hold me over since I am traveling anyway.

Was fun reading this thread though, got my OC itch going on :DDD

side note - I got my gtx 1070 laptop hitting 2000 core while gaming smile.gif

Are you running a FE? Because without the shunt mod, it's useless. After playing Witcher 3 at 2101, I get power limiting issues. Hitting 120 and crash if the power goes above 120. Voltage is unstable also.

No shunt can u post a link as to how to do that. Might mess with it in the future. I'm doing this purely just to bench card when I game I set power to 110 voltage to 50 core 125 mem 300

In stock for canada.

Dam could not resist, just bought a second card...

Do you need a special SLI brige or the one I use before with my gtx970 will work. (its the basic single bridge one)

Edit: From what I found on the net, at 1440p it was not making a huge difference on most of game on a1080, Dont know about the 1080ti though, I will use the old one to start and compare bench with other to see if it really make a difference.

If my card sits vertically in my case, motherboard sits flat, horizontal, doing a shunt mod under an EK block the liquid metal will run, ruining my card, right?

Not unless you put way too much on them. My 1080 was vertical and didn't have a problem. The CLU ended up drying and I couldn't get it off though. Decided to not do it on the Ti.. not much to gain.

Hitting 2101 MHz isn't impressive to me anymore. It's not realistic for gameplay due to the power limiting.

Witcher 3 max everything in toussiant is a true benchmark to a stable OC. Your power limits will nearly be at 120% the majority of the time.

You can put hot glue around the resistor, CLU and then hair dry it to soften the hot glu and then stick a piece of wood on top to close it off so it can't run out ;D

I can run at 2100 for benching but my go to everyday clocks are 2062, at 1.062v, can do a full Heaven bench and only dips a few seconds the entire bench under water. At 1.093v, 2083 for 24/7 use if I did that it jumps up and down from 1.093v to 1.050v and in between. redface.gif

Better a stable 2062 core I think then clocks all over the place. thumb.gif
