Simple debit card is good enough to pay for everything. At least in EU of course.

I actually never have debt. I pay it off at the end of every month so no interest is charged. And you need a CC to build a credit score, might as well get a good one. You should learn about them.

I get FREE points, warranty extension, insurance, etc. A debit card won't get you that, there might be some that do but I highly doubt it.

For the next 3 months my gpu can be lost or stolen and I'll get a new one. That's another perk.

Is this better thermal solution than 1080 ti hybrid kit on a Fe??

http://www.aquatuning.es/refrigeracion-liquida/kits-y-sistemas/kits-internos/alphacool/eiswolf/21866/alphacool-eiswolf-120-gpx-pro-nvidia-geforce-gtx-titan-x-pascal-/-1080-ti-m02-black

and other question.. worth the price difference between 1080 hybrid kit and 1080 ti hybrid kit? I am not willing to pay 50 more euro for aesthetic reason, if it works.. ^^

Those are actually a very good perks and points. I will look into that in my bank. Thanks thumb.gif

I'm really liking this Strix BIOS, see no need to try others. smile.gif

Thanks for testing. Looks good, i might as well just flash it then.

Just so you know some peeps are having issues with the Strix BIOS, not sure why. It's working quite well for myself under water.

I need a second opinion here... As many of you know, the 1080 ti costs around $900 here in Europe bigeyedsmiley.png BUT I am going to the US next week, to visit some family and I want to get myself a new GPU!

We are only there for one week, (next week) and as of right now most of the 1080ti out there are the FE edition, the only Aftermarket model I could find in stock is the Gigabyte Gaming OC.

Do any of you own this model, or can you recomend another model? I currently own a Nvidia 1070 FE, but I think the FE models is a little too noisy for me, and as you can see the Gigabyte model costs the same as the FE so why not get that one over the FE smile.gif

GIGABYTE GeForce® GTX 1080 Ti Gaming OC 11G

This is the card:
http://www.gigabyte.us/Graphics-Card/GV-N108TGAMING-OC-11G#sp

Thanks

This card should be pretty solid, actually. I think most people are avoiding due to it's garish color scheme and the fact that it does not have a backplate....but in the end, that doesn't really matter. That cooler on the 1080 G1 was a very good cooler, so I wouldn't be afraid to buy it...of course if you do like the color scheme wink.gif.

What you are doing is very risky in terms of hardware, let me tell you why:

1. Card you have your eyes on has not been reviewed even once. You buy it on your own risk. I would not buy not reviewed card.
2. Buying card in US will give you a lot of trouble if for example you will want to return it. Here in EU if you buy card you have 2 weeks to return it without any reasons (of course only through online order). In US the law is not that generous and you have to many times pay restock fees etc. Also judging from your post you will buy it directly from a store in US, yes? If so you will be unable to return it.
3. If you return to EU and something happens to card (or you want to return it) you can't go through store support to handle your complaint/warranty since it is located in US, and you would have to send them card (that means shipped HUGE cost, TAXes etc). Or you have to try directcly Gigabyte Support.
4. Card bought in US is under US warranty law, and everybody knows that in term of warranty (in EU 2 years is always guarantee), return or complaint it is easier in EU. Also in EU there are no restocking fees and shipp cost when you are under warranty - store/supplier pays for everything.
5. Buying in EU store (best in some local store via online order) means that if your card has any flaws etc. You just pack GPU, go to store, give it to them and they handle everything (shipping, contact with supplier, repair/replacement etc.). You just sit and wait.

I would not buy THAT expensive hardware outside of my continent to be honest smile.gif

Gigabyte RMA is serial-based, so country of origin should not matter. The SKUs are the same, so I don't see what you're ultimately getting at here.

This....do people not understand that CCs are used to build credit and of course build free points? I'm the same as you. I buy my stuff and pay it off so I never see interest. And depending on your spending, you're getting 10, 20, 30 bucks a month at least in cashback. It's almost silly not to use a CC.

In short? Better to pay 100$ more to save yourself any possible problems and having something bought on your continent and country if possible. Things are faster, more reliant and you are familliar with your local law. No supprises. That is all.

I only buy from US if said product is not available in EU.

Got an EK titan block on my Asus 1080 Ti FE and its working very well.

Stock air cooled 120% power would boost to 1911 max but run up to 84 degrees and throttle back to around 1838, kinda expected and was also running to full 120%

Stock water cooled 120% power boosts to 1911 and stays there smile.gif

+104 gives 2012
+137 gives 2038 max power only 110 temp 25c with odd spike to 26c
+154 gives 2063 max power only 114, temp same
+165 gives 2076 max power only 117, temp same
+182 gives 2088 max power and temp hasn't spiked any higher
+193 gives 2101 max power and temp hasn't spiked any higher
+204 gives 2114 did driver crash here, but just adjust core clock is starting to bin max volts at 1.043, adding +25 on voltage got it back to 1.050 and it passed benchmark. power and temp still hasn't spiked any higher.
+216 gives 2126 did crash again due to voltage binning left it there for my first play under water smile.gif

Admittedly I was only running in game benchmark from "The Division" and it is pretty short, but its pretty graphic intensive game and it was running full gpu usage.

Will play around with AB graph tomorrow to get volt bins a bit better. Before some asks, its on chilled water set at 20c which is why the GPU temps are so low. Also has a great effect on power efficiency being colder which is why power usage drops so much. Would still need to use a better bios if I wanted to go for max volts though I think.

Edit: wait a minute... You're only at 120%? Brah, I'm running at 330 Watts... That's like 132% relative to you... Unless if you're doing 120% on the partner bios, I don't see how that's possible, it would be 360 Watts O_O.

At stock bios with OC and 120% slider, I ran around 42C to 45C.

Ya for some reason even at 1.075V I would hit the 120% powerlimit on the Asus partner card bios flashed on my FE. But tbh there was barely any gains and for now I'm back on the stock bios but I might give the MSI one a try.

Well sure, but this would only be the case if the warranty was carried out via invoice and registration. Unless Gigabyte has changed it recently, serial RMAs show no discrimination by country.
