Good to know! Do you have the Xtreme? I have the regular Aorus 1080 Ti on the way to replace my 980 Ti. Don't mind setting 100% fan until EK releases the waterblock for this card. Can't wait to try the card out even though it seems the Aorus's temps aren't that great. Not a big problem since it's going under water anyways.
Hmmm, where are people seeing temp results? I remember reading something about someone getting results only to find out the fan wasn't cutting on after 60C like it should have. If the previous cards are any indication, the cooler should perform along the lines of the MSI one.

What you are doing is very risky in terms of hardware, let me tell you why:

1. Card you have your eyes on has not been reviewed even once. You buy it on your own risk. I would not buy not reviewed card.
2. Buying card in US will give you a lot of trouble if for example you will want to return it. Here in EU if you buy card you have 2 weeks to return it without any reasons (of course only through online order). In US the law is not that generous and you have to many times pay restock fees etc. Also judging from your post you will buy it directly from a store in US, yes? If so you will be unable to return it.
3. If you return to EU and something happens to card (or you want to return it) you can't go through store support to handle your complaint/warranty since it is located in US, and you would have to send them card (that means shipped HUGE cost, TAXes etc). Or you have to try directcly Gigabyte Support.
4. Card bought in US is under US warranty law, and everybody knows that in term of warranty (in EU 2 years is always guarantee), return or complaint it is easier in EU. Also in EU there are no restocking fees and shipp cost when you are under warranty - store/supplier pays for everything.
5. Buying in EU store (best in some local store via online order) means that if your card has any flaws etc. You just pack GPU, go to store, give it to them and they handle everything (shipping, contact with supplier, repair/replacement etc.). You just sit and wait.

I would not buy THAT expensive hardware outside of my continent to be honest smile.gif

Thanks for the advice regarding the support. I am well aware of how the supporting works, this is not the first time I buy from the US and bring it to the EU. I have not previously had any problems with contacting the support, for any of these product.

My question did not really go about the US vs EU warranty, but more regards if anyone had and info regarding Gigabyte GPU's and are they any good.

For example:
I pay roughly 10-20% more on stuff in Australia but I have full statutory 2 years warranty regardless of manufacturer policy, if the manufacturer is defunct then the issue is taken up with the shop I bought the product at.

Basically, this entitles me to full protection, even bypassing "warranty void if removed stickers". In my opinion, these protections far outweigh any cost difference but YMMV.

As for the specific model the question really boils down to whether you intend to go Water/AIO cooling later. If you don't intend to hard mod then go for the ones with custom cooling. However, it is recommended to wait a bit so we can get more info on the specifics of a custom card.

Thank you, for the advice.

Ok, no problem then! Well, card was not yet reviewed. Also it does not have backplate so not many people are interested in it. If I were you I would try to snag different 1080Ti in US. Maybe until you actually go visit family, more brands should have restock. I would AIM for ROG, GAMING X or maybe Aorus Xtreme.

I would not but card without proper reviews first.

Glad to hear this as this is in line with how last gen cards did. Any coil whine from your unit?

Good to hear, maybe few people got bad sample units, and there we have those high temps users reports.

Actually so far all AIBs are really quiet. They did great job on this card so far.

Allright, I will cool it for the next few days and hope to see some re-stock on the Aorus.
Why should people not be interested because of the "missing" backplate? As far as I know it has no real function, it is only there for looks, like V1Tech backplates... smile.gif

People buying AIBs are simillar to people buying AIOs, Tempered Glass cases etc biggrin.gif We love good looking shinies inside our RIGs tongue.gif

Considering everything and their mothers today is RGB- looks became as important factor in nowadays PC hardware as performance. If you want to win market- you need to have both look and performance. And RGB of course.

This is evolution of PC from work/gaming station to actually a furniture inside your house that you want to look good. Hell, people repaint and design WHOLE Rooms just for their gaming RIGS. Looks are super important today smile.gif

Did I mention RGB?
