Gigabyte Extreme Gaming Bios is live on Techpowerup:

https://www.techpowerup.com/vgabios/190959/gigabyte-gtx1080ti-11264-170331

Get a load of the numbers - 250W target TDP with 50% adjustment, netting 375W.

Not sure im brave enough to flash that on a FE lol.

Unless that thing somehow holds 2.2GHz with some nice gains to back it up, it would be so wasteful to use that much power.

1632 Boost clock in OC mode, it looks like it's king of the mountain in the partner cards. Although the BIOS uploaded states 1608, which is the gaming mode.

Does thing have a BIOS switch for the two modes or is done via software?

Have a go at this guy's video - pegged at 2062 looping heaven even with 74 degree core temps.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=1&v=_YmZ3hwAosY

For out of the box performance that's pretty impressive. I dont think my FE holds that looping heaven under water thanks to the power limit (edit: scratch that, just tested and it holds 2075). I would have expected temperature throttling at 74 as well.

much but use for those tax dollars than giving them to Trump to vacay in Mara-lago every weekend.

This card will go under water I don't have a full cover but it will slip in my current water loop with universal blocks I don't really want to do this but I am sure it will be a few more weeks before the blocks become available.
Nice I almost got the EVGA with water block when Computer lounge had their big sale I was hanging for a card I didn't want the EVGA would have been $1450ish including water block, but the ETA for the strix was still 3-4 weeks away but on the online check out someone bet to it and glad they did I really wanted the Asus 1080Ti Strix
I might add I swore I would never deal with PlayTech again but when it came to getting this card or wait........... I will just say they have not had 4 years of my business.
you right there I been looking at my 2840x1600 LG 38" and GTX 770 SLI to tease me I could play some games... that are 2 years old now.
oh, i love that monitor as I know you MEANT to say 3840x1600 WQHD+ , so nasty. the horizontal rez of 4k, the 21:9 AR, the xtra pixel on vertical... that dude is basically widescreen 4k. Or, 3.5k lol, giving up a few pixels but gaining width and framerate. And it's HUGE. I am jello now!

yeah, you have a lot of extra pixels freeing up your cpu in wqhd.

It runs great, at the temperatures you're saying. 50% fan speed at 42C to 47C. It's when I run a custom bios at 330 watts it gains an extra 4C or 5C. That kind of makes sense, if you get 4.5C for every 10 watts, at 300 watts you'd be at 45C and 330 watts you'd be a 49.5C.

I have it in push pull also. I'll probably try different things later today. But turning on the blower fan higher got me at 48C which helped a lot. Must be cooling the midplate. Got to find means of extracting heat in other ways.
put a 100mmx50x15mm (or 2) finned heatsinks on your backplate right above the gpu/vram with some Fujipoly; that will help a degree or three. I dont guess the case snip mod that @VanuSovereignty came up w will help in your case but maybe a degree or two there, two. When you only need a degree or two more to avoid throttle you gotta do what you gotta do. Also, did you use thermal grizz kyro? Any other paste and you could be leaving a degree or two on the table there.

I need a second opinion here... As many of you know, the 1080 ti costs around $900 here in Europe bigeyedsmiley.png BUT I am going to the US next week, to visit some family and I want to get myself a new GPU!

We are only there for one week, (next week) and as of right now most of the 1080ti out there are the FE edition, the only Aftermarket model I could find in stock is the Gigabyte Gaming OC.

Do any of you own this model, or can you recomend another model? I currently own a Nvidia 1070 FE, but I think the FE models is a little too noisy for me, and as you can see the Gigabyte model costs the same as the FE so why not get that one over the FE smile.gif

GIGABYTE GeForce® GTX 1080 Ti Gaming OC 11G

This is the card:
http://www.gigabyte.us/Graphics-Card/GV-N108TGAMING-OC-11G#sp

Thanks
i looked at it yesterday, but, ust set up instocktracker to the asus, msi armor, msi gamingX, Aorus OC and Aorus Xtrme. They come in/out of stock throughout the day. Usually for 5-10 minutes at a time so set the alarm and be ready. have paypal already logged in and have your decisions about next day/2 day ship already made so you can turbo checkout like it's a race... b/c it is. I KNOW you'll have a shot at the Aorus, Armor, the giga you already saw (which looks decent tbh, but i wanted 8+8pin), and could get lucky on an extreme aorus or asus. If it doesnt appen for you before you are set to leave you will still at least be able to get that giga or an FE for $699 as a fallback.

For example:
I pay roughly 10-20% more on stuff in Australia but I have full statutory 2 years warranty regardless of manufacturer policy, if the manufacturer is defunct then the issue is taken up with the shop I bought the product at.

Basically, this entitles me to full protection, even bypassing "warranty void if removed stickers". In my opinion, these protections far outweigh any cost difference but YMMV.

As for the specific model the question really boils down to whether you intend to go Water/AIO cooling later. If you don't intend to hard mod then go for the ones with custom cooling. However, it is recommended to wait a bit so we can get more info on the specifics of a custom card.
but the aorus for example has a full 4 year warranty. that istwice what you guys are quoting as "good".

it's misinfo based on a video where the N00by youtuber had no idea what a custom fan profile even was in the comments and actually had FanStop illuminated during his run where he reached 78c. once he turned on the fan he was in the 60s

Left Ungine Valley running while I did other stuff and temps were really nice.

What's a program that might be able to stress it for coil whine? FurMark?

Actually so far all AIBs are really quiet. They did great job on this card so far.

How high were they reporting? I havent even tried OC just set the power slider to 125% and hit 2.0GHz core.

It's amazing I jumped from a 780 and its more than double performance.
