NVIDIA GTX 1080 Ti Owner's Club - Page 376

I'll be receiving my Aorus (not the Xtreme edition) next Wednesday and will post some results on air and when the waterblock is released I'll post results under water for my card. I was able to snag one the when I woke up on the day of release. Luckily I wasn't one of the people who stayed up to midnight to try to grab one only for them to go out of stock immediately. Luckily when I woke up from my nice 8 hours they had just put the Aorus back in stock so I instinctively grabbed one. Should be a nice upgrade from my 980 Ti considering I'm using a 1440p 144hz G-Sync monitor.

People were reporting 78C without OCing.

Xtreme has 375W power limit but that won't imo help with higher overclock on air and water. It hits higher without OCing but so far all 1080Ti have soft cap at around 2050mhz and hard cap at around 2100mhz.

concur with those temps (my experience almost exactly) on your FE

it's misinfo based on a video where the N00by youtuber had no idea what a custom fan profile even was in the comments and actually had FanStop illuminated during his run where he reached 78c. once he turned on the fan he was in the 60s. This card cools better than any others besides the Asus atm, and does it silently. The Asus is the champ of that but is the most expensive.

Honestly guys this really is the best cooler Nvidia has come out with for a video card. After much testing, all you have to do is set up a good fan profile and your set. I will admit though the stock fan profile is one of the worst ive ever seen for a gaming card, so its very important to set up your own fan profile. I honestly dont mind the fan at 100%, sure I can hear it, but its no big deal especially with gaming headset on. Honestly, I will never understand peoples complaints about fan noise, you want to complain about a loud air cooler? Try some old radeon 290's or 4870's at 100% fan speed and then tell me the Nvidia cooler is loud. Those cards sounded like a jet taking off, this thing is tame in comparison. Im happy with the FE. Got it direct from EVGA's website so no tax. With shipping I bought it for $720 and have had this thing since 4 days after launch day and im loving every minute of this beast. No voltage it fluctuates between 1950-2000 depending on the game, and my temp never goes above 60C.

If I do upgrade with EVGA stepup, it will be for a Classy or Kingpin. biggrin.gif

put a 100mmx50x15mm (or 2) finned heatsinks on your backplate right above the gpu/vram with some Fujipoly; that will help a degree or three. I dont guess the case snip mod that @VanuSovereignty came up w will help in your case but maybe a degree or two there, two. When you only need a degree or two more to avoid throttle you gotta do what you gotta do. Also, did you use thermal grizz kyro? Any other paste and you could be leaving a degree or two on the table there.
i looked at it yesterday, but, ust set up instocktracker to the asus, msi armor, msi gamingX, Aorus OC and Aorus Xtrme. They come in/out of stock throughout the day. Usually for 5-10 minutes at a time so set the alarm and be ready. have paypal already logged in and have your decisions about next day/2 day ship already made so you can turbo checkout like it's a race... b/c it is. I KNOW you'll have a shot at the Aorus, Armor, the giga you already saw (which looks decent tbh, but i wanted 8+8pin), and could get lucky on an extreme aorus or asus. If it doesnt appen for you before you are set to leave you will still at least be able to get that giga or an FE for $699 as a fallback.
but the aorus for example has a full 4 year warranty. that istwice what you guys are quoting as "good".

I used Gelid Extreme. Im going to try and do a test with the radiator outside of my case.

I get a feeling its just the extra 30 Watts of heat from the bios. 30 Watts extra can make quite a difference, like trying to hold onto a 30 watts light bulb turned on :O

Does someone know if Gigabyte will release the Xtreme Gaming Waterforce series for 1080Ti ?
