I have never owned a Zotac product and have been extremely happy with my Asus DCU cards. I was this close to pull the trigger on the Strix OC but I do not like the port layout. I do not like the Aourus because it seems to heavy on one end and bends while sitting in the PCI-E port.

That's a super sexy looking card. Zotac seems to put out great cards, but aren't as popular as Asus, MSI, GB, or EVGA. I'm not sure why, but I've never seen anything negative about them. They even have a competitive warranty.

I know people were bagging on their customer service for a while and I think that scared a lot of people off.

But I already asked them that and they told me I have to send it to the nearest distributor which is Taiwan. They have distributors here in our country but I don't understand why I can't just send it directly to them. I would be all for Gigabyte or ASUS if the warranty is valid in our country. If you do a Google search, there are lot of hits saying that Gigabyte and ASUS doesn't have international warranty when it comes to GPU's.

Well, the Zotac 980Ti Amp has a somewhat annoying fan speed bug which was never properly fixed (which is why I got 2 of them from the tons of Amazon returns for cheap). Cooler is great though. They also seem to be a bit more susceptible to coil whine than the ASUS , Gigabyte and MSI cards I had before.

Thank you for the replies.
There is a gamble with every product and coil whine is normal in GPUS. Some exhibit more others less.
Is that Zotac Spectre card a good choice? Fan bugs are not something I would want to have on a 900 euro card tongue.gif!

I own a amp extreme 1070. That fan speed thing still exists but is easely fixed by putting fan speed above 30% so its either idle for me and ramps up from 30%. First time zotac for me too. And i am very happy with this card. No coilwhine at all and solid build.

Doesnt happen everytime maybe 30 percent of the time, anyone else out their had this issue and is their a way to fix it or is it driver related?

prior to my getting a 1080ti, a week ago, I finally switched over to windows10. I was using 780 SLI and had the exact thing happen all the time. It never did this in win8.1 but as soon as I went to win10 started having the exact same thing happen. When I got the single 1080ti it hasn't happened at all. it must be a win10 + SLI thing.

Might be a different problem since from what I have read, the problem on the 980TI Omega was that the fans starting voltage / behavior didn't properly match the design of the fan speed controller making them switch on and off again and again when going from idle to operating speed or vice versa.

Regarding coil whine, from the 3 Zotac 980Ti's I had, 1 had strong coil whine, 1 medium and 1 none. The 2 1080Ti founder edition cards, my previous ASUS 970s and Gigabyte 7970s had none. Ofc, too small a sample size to draw any real conclusion but it's probably good to order from a shop with a generous return policy.

Your score is too low for 2100 flashing AIB BIOS and clocking higher doesn't mean its actually faster

We dealt with this back with 1080s

About a 4% improvement same clock speeds. biggrin.gif
