Setting the fan to 30% when below 45C results in still deadly silent operation (I cant tell the difference between fans off and 30%). Also results in idle temps of 30C, a 20C drop...

Do you notice any electrical noise when stressing the card or playing a game high fps?

Yeah, I run my desktop at 144hz for that reason... This problem had existed since maxwell! Quite annoying.

You're not giving any data of graphs to us, that's what you're doing wrong.

GPU-Z or afterburner charts.

By the time the fan dies from running at 30% I hope to be on a GTX 1380 lol.

You could think so but more like lazy, avoid pushing dust in to the card so i don't have to clean until i sell it.

Well. It looks like I can push my memory a bit farther. This is probably close to the ragged edge for my memory clock. devil.gif

Slight boost in Firestrike.

I then put them into my work machine with a 5820k @ 4.5Ghz and since them have been seeing them running at 99%. I recommend everyone that intends to primarly play BF1 to buy at least a 6core. Any i5 will not suffice and even a 7700k has fps drops now and then in the 0.1 percentile, and it will bother you. BF1 on 64p maps needs a lot of cpu power and no 4 core will deliver enough.
well, there IS ONE that will...

Curiously, precisionX and heaven OSD show different clock speeds?

Heaven is now running at 2050... I'll have to try more tomorrow.
Heaven is a lie

But, it finished the test this way - no complaints... (it was 2100 all the way through)

doesnt discredit it in my eyes or anything, but, it's Heaven that be lyin

Hats off to Micron and Nvidia for making such ludicrously fast memory

550GB/s on a 384-bit bus is crazy
Yep. I found I could pass multiple heaven runs at +152, but not +165 (although that's my TimeSpy max run, +165) but even +140 crashes in Battlefield 1, and then it crashed at +128 (that was disheartening) after a 2 hour session. But I played 4 hours w/o a crash at +114 (same as a pre-clocked Aorus so I guess Im guaranteed to at least be no worse off than my FE when Aorus comes this afternoon). So, my advice if you are crashing in games is 3 bins below your best Heaven/TimeSpy settings, (-13 per step).

Edit: Folks claiming to be running at 2.1 or 2.0Ghz on the founders edition - refusing to run firestrike extreme stress test when asked to prove it. I have had a founders edition 1080 Ti. It will throttle down to 1850-1900 at best under firestrike extreme or witcher 3 4K. And you're running atleast 70-75% fan speed. AKA windtunnel.

What's your suggestion regarding the "get an FE if you're slapping a waterblock onto it" argument?

Aaaand...both CPUs are basicelly toe to toe...difference is almst none and even sometimes 4790k is better.... 5775C was supposed to be better than 4790k, correct?, so I don't know what to think about it... frown.gif
Are you seriously considering buying a 5775c and running it at 3.3ghz? Because that would be mad.
