My first thought on the Titan XP2017 today was:

Man, i will miss the short feeling of owning the fastest graphics card... I enjoyed it for the first time in my life, and it just lasted a week...

Dont sweat it, the Ti is still a beast of a card and it's cheaper to SLI.

I got the Ti on the 10th so I had the fastest card for about a month smile.gif Didn't expect Nvidia to refresh their Titan X this early. It was a good run lol

So having a higher power limit won't help me getting higher clocks, I get that. But (given the right temperatures) it will keep the oc more stable?

Testing out the Strix, happy but has some slight coil whine\electrical noise when gaming at 300fps sometimes even lower...not to bad i guess but in comparison my 1080 msi gaming x i only noticed coil whine at around 4000 frames

Yeah many of us have said that but we need someone to km start a new one and keep it alive.

The op sucks, he just wanted to be first to make a 108p Ti thread and abandoned it.

Not necessarily. Many factors come into play. Throw in an extra 30 watts of power and add in 5C of heat might push you into a thermal throttle bin and be counter productive.

Then your card will use more voltage to keep those clocks and you're either back to where you were or even worse performance.

That's why the Asus bios doesn't work well for many people.

If you're under 40C then more power will help. But being under 40C is kind of hard.

If you're at 45C and then you draw 30 more watts it can push you to 49-51C and cause the card to start thermal throttling.

Understand my statement with a twinkle in the eye. Its not that i am sad now or think the 1080Ti is a bad card. But really, having the fastest card could have lasted a little longer...its purely emotional. Beside, a full and uncut GP102 has a certain attraction to me, that is not justified by the roughly 8% performance increase over the 1080Ti, its just because it is uncut...also purely emotional. But in no way i am going to spend the Titan price... If it was 1.000€ i would say **** it and go for it, but not one € more...
