2 salaries? I make less than $50k USD a year. rolleyes.gif

Don't spend too much money needlessly, don't go out much aside from dates with the GF. I got a dog, my car is a lease and I pay $40 a month for my cellphone. Only really thing hurting is my student loans.

It would be the logical progression. Yields improve with time so they had a bunch of perfect GP102 chips saved up that didn't meet the cut for Quadro for one reason or another, or just simply slow Quadro sales. So instead of manually cutting down the chips or waiting for anemic (relatively speaking vs the 1808ti) Quadro demand, they naturally update the Titan.

Honestly, though looking at the specs and previous data on the older titans. This one might not come out too far ahead of the 1080ti. I mean, they are perfect chips in the sense the whole circuit is working but it will be a complete crapshoot as to how well binned they are for frequency (i.e. if they were centrally on the wafer or nearer to the edge). Coupled with simply more functional units to drive, the Titan Xp will almost certainly need a shunt mod, at least an AIO cooler and 1950mhz+ (which might be difficult due to more functional units) to match the 2050mhz type speeds people seem to easily be getting with the 1080ti. Any major performance gains will likely come from the increased VRAM bandwidth which will certainly be felt at 2-4K, especially open world games.

I was actually expecting the Titan Xp refresh to have HBM2 to fully differentiate itself as a complete refresh and to guarantee success vs Vega. This would've made more sense as HBM2 would largely fix the power + temp issues of the GDDR5X version thus even the FE cooler will perform well.

So, it is the TitanXpeepee as I suggested? Capital p or small? biggrin.gif

I keed, I keed.... If I didn't have to buy exotic luxury cars for the IRS (I can only assume that's what they do with the large checks I send them?), I'd buy 2 Xpp's and use my new TIs to display my email triumphanly in 1080p on a side monitor just to show them who's boss... (or I'd have them crunch numbers along side my 980s and 1080s, but either way... I'm happy for Titan owners... sounds like fun).

Agreed, I make more and feel the same. It's an option in the end, hopefully this will make for people selling Ti's for cheap. I make more than 80k, but mostly because of OT..... and I don't find myself bothered by the release or the price. Still have yet to buy one, I'll wait for Volta and jump on the Titan bandwagon. I'm brand new to PC building, and have not done WC yet, so I want a Volta build to be my first. I'm so new I'm stepping up from 1080 ACX FTW to ICX FTW 2. Might sell the 2's and get the FTW3's.

Mate I am from Eastern Europe, here a big company Manager salary per month is like.... 1500-2000 USD at top or 1300-1800 EUR if you like. So for your average mate those are 3 salaries, for middle good earning class is two. We don't have EUR or USD here biggrin.gif

I make little above 10k USD per year dude biggrin.gif. These are good money here.

50k USD year I would have to be director or something here lol biggrin.gif

Be glad you live in rich country biggrin.gif

I don't make EVEN ONE UNNECESSARY spending per month. How else could I spend whole salary on 1080Ti, eh?
