Ok, EUREKA!!! I opened the door of my case and put a box fan as exhaust and fans on gpu at 100% (hadnt tried either yet, wth, Ken), and I can now pass a full Timespy run with max temps at 49c.... ON FREAKING AIR. House AC is turned down a bit, too, my kids are beeachin about it lol. 68f, it's usually 72.

new high in timespy, too.

Definitely much quieter. I'm a little disappointed with the chip's quality compared to my FE, though. FE would run Witcher 3 for hours on end at 2000MHz with 0.993v, this bad boy just crashed after a minute at 1.025v. About to try 1.031v.

Can you share your GPU-Z screenshots next time of the entire run? Thanks.

sure, i had the ticker on too fast last time. i have it on 2.5 second polling now. brb.

http://gpuz.techpowerup.com/17/04/10/uw5.png

damn, i forgot to hit "max" on the temp, i was trying to use snip to show everything and it wasn't taking so i snapshotted before it cycled off, sorry. But you can still tell, it hit 50c for a second that time.

Pretty damn salty for air.
But it's a benchmark air set-up right now. Those temps are 10c better, if not 12c better than i run with the door on and no giant fan exhaust lol. 62c is fine for gaming but for benching one must do what one must do.

Also, as ya'll can see, the 125% power limit is plenty on this card. Held it's 2076 throughout.

The silicone lottery is real. At least the power limit is higher.

I said "robe", but , yup!!!

plus these are guantlet, so the extreme got a lot (not all, because you can still get lucky with guantlet, i did. im beating top advertised extreme clocks by +20 core or so. not too shabby) and probably all of the truly golden chips, which in this case means maybe 25 core more than me if truly a golden.

Silicone lottery is real indeed! I actually thought about getting my FE back and throwing it under water for a second LOL. I'm never satisfied... kookoo.gif

1.031 held up for 20 minutes or so... Time to figure out how to enable 150% power limit and reach for the stars. Will report back later!

i'm sure the extreme bios will do it. it was advertised as both of them having 150% power at first online but that is wrong. If you try the bios, report back of course. I am satisfied b/c my FE was a dog and i got at least a 'silver' aorus lul. Although my FE could hit +700+ on the mem before artifacting (never actually saw any. who knows how much farther it could have gone, although probably not much) and this one artifacts in Heaven at +420. rolleyes.gif

oh, here's a better pic of a full run. This time i got zero power throttles. I am at 125% and 90c temp target, no extra volts. 1.05v locked.

http://gpuz.techpowerup.com/17/04/10/apy.png

I can make it hit 2100 and hold thru a bench, but these are at a game stable setting.

**pic: im lonely hehe

So this is what overclocking Nvidia GPUs has amounted to. Everyone discussing clocks within 50mhz of each other lol. Amazing.
