So my card is not producing artifacts in any games ( tested GTA V , Andromeda, 3dmark 11,13,Heaven ).

I dont know why it flickered just once. After that i tried to reproduce this all 3 days, without result. Just start Fire strike, then fast close, wait and nothing.

My cable Display Port is.

I was having that type of flicker issue too. It started for me after I installed the latest Riva tuner statistics server. I could get it to flicker everytime I hit apply or reset overclocks in Afterburner. After I uninstalled Riva tuner, it hasn't happened since.

I dont have riva tuner installed. Only gpuz, fraps, cpuz in background. Thats all. MAybe it flickered because clocks was changed? But why i cant reproduce this then>?

Figured it out!

You wanna adjust your curve points in increments or multiples of 13mhz at a time. You'll see offset values of 13,26,39,52,65,78,91,104,117,130...etc

When testing a point on your curve, lock it in by pressing CTRL + L in the afterburner voltage/frequency curve editor open GPU-Z and go to the sensors tab, run Heaven in benchmark mode or simply on a loop and see what perf caps you're hitting. You want it to just say Utilization, meaning there's nothing limiting your GPU Utilization, no bad clocks or insufficient voltages.

EXAMPLE

I'm still setting up my curve, but I will post back my values for each step once I'm locked in and fully stable with no perf caps. thumb.gif

Hope this helps you all and is clear.

Hmmm...interesting. Didn't know about being able to lock the voltage at each point. Let us know how it turns out.

I also have a 144hz monitor and was trying for some 2.1 ghz clocks at the time too I believe. Might have been related to a driver recovery on a 144 hz monitor. I don't know. It doesn't sound like anything to worry about at this point though. thumb.gif

Maybe it flickered some fluke with my monitor 144hz or something? But i have 378.92 drivers almost the newest.

I can't believe I'm actually counting down the days until my vacation is over and I can come home and play with that Aorus. Tomorrow is our last full day here. Already warned the GF that once we get back I'm going full introvert.

So I flashed this guy: https://www.techpowerup.com/vgabios/190959/gigabyte-gtx1080ti-11264-170331

Following the method here: http://www.overclock.net/t/1627212/how-to-flash-strix-1080-ti-bios-in-an-1080-ti-fe

And my card is now an Extreme. biggrin.gifthumb.gif

+150 now available in AB, and default memory clock is now 1404MHz instead of 1376MHz.

Time to beat this card up a bit! devil.gif

WELP, the Extreme BIOS doesnt work for the EVGA 1080 Ti FE unfortunately. After the flash and a clean driver install, the clocks under load never cross 8XXMhz. GPU-Z says that there the GPU is hitting power limit, even at 90% load.
This is with the power limit maxed out at 150%.

I could have saved you time, a post like last page I said all that lol.

Stop flashing bios, they don't do anything. Trust me, you'll get worse results. If you want better power draw, shunt mod is the only way to go.

I'm hoping Kendrawolf deletes his topic because it's kind of misleading until someone measures the difference between stock and bios flash out of the wall.

it's nvidia drivers, guys. it happens to me every few driver releases. I am on a multi-monitor set-up with one 4k/60, one 1440p/144 and I think it has something to do with that (or just the 144Hz in general), but it isnt a sign of faulty hardware and should go away (again) in future driver releases).

MSI X back in stock, btw
