NVIDIA GTX 1080 Ti Owner's Club - Page 502

Anyone here with STRIX 1080Ti that plans to remove/replace its backplate? If so I would like to buy original STRIX backplate for some custom modding.

Please kindly PM me if you'd like to sell it.

I spent an extra $200 for the strix over any other card because of that pretty little logo wubsmiley.gif

just a quick run with my 24/7 settings looks like my 3770k is not being killed by this bench
might try for some better benches winter is only a few months away smile.gif

what are your clocks on the 3770k? I don't supposer it's 3501MHz as the benchmark reports ..
EDIT: looking at your sig rig - 4.8GHz?

MSI Gaming X, Asus Strix = 330w?

MSI Armor, Gigabyte Aorus, EVGA SC = ???

Founders = 300w?

Solution for those with 300w power target: Wait for bios that works if it comes or shunt mod 4 all? (Unless your case is oriented in a way such that the liquid metal will just roll off, then RIP in peace pepperoni)

Is the reason why Gaming X and Strix have 330w power target that they have a custom PCB that affects the reference card's shunts?

The Aorus non-extreme version is 375W in software. The PCB also uses 002 resistors for the shunts for good measure. I can't speak for the other models.

I have a FE with a Hybrid cooler on it, I can run 2126 MHz on 1.081 for 30 minutes on both heaven and valley, I cant get the card to stay at 1.093 long because of the power limitation, for the time I can stay in 1.093 I run 2151 MHz, would the shunt mod help keep me in the 1.093 bracket? I tried the ASUS bios, but flashed back after that didn't help and I had some issues with it even running 2126 MHz on 1.081. My temps stay under 49C during these runs with the hybrid cooler and Kryonaut on the chip. Memory is at +500.

Funny world if Gigabyte wins simply by having higher power target...

They won't. There are people here with Gigabyte and they hit same clocks as ASUS etc. You can get power limit all what you want but there is still voltage limitation and how much core you can achieve.

Ale few FE here OC higher than AIBs so....

Also higher core doesn't mean better performance as it was proven here few times. Many times higher clccks on higher V will give you worse performance/fps/score than lower clocks at lower V.

If it was as simple as power limit it would be nice smile.gif

It's all a silicaon lottery as always smile.gif

I know we make a big deal out of it, but honestly more power would just get the FE guys like 0.5-1% performance increase.

And nearly none if you can't oc that high.
