NVIDIA GTX 1080 Ti Owner's Club - Page 507

Hmm, I am not hitting Power Limit... Even when I force my card to run at 1.093 V on 2076 on core and +600 memory my top Power Limit in GPU-Z is 108...

How to make it actually hit higher?\

And did anyone tried higher Voltage than 1.093 on air for higher clocks?

just go into Superposition bench and run 4k or 8k preset. that will power you up. It's all application controlled what power you actually run at.

Thanks! Can I check what is your graphics score on Superposition at 1080 extreme preset with your 1080 ti OC-ed?

I'm on my last airplane and then I have another hour ride home and then I can finally tear that box open and hopefully able to fit it right below my water cooled 980 Ti. I have no interest in draining the loop right now. I just want to slide it under the 980 Ti until the water block comes out. I have a feeling I'm going to run into issues though. Maybe I'll be the first person to use a 980 Ti as a physics card ha!

How do I lock voltage on card. Said I want to force it to get 1.081 V at 2076 core, how to lock it there?

I'm using an older water cooled Maxwell Titan X as a dedicated PhysX card. wink.gif

Here's my 1080p Extreme run. Started at 2088, then held 2076 throughout (tongue.gif) , max temp 47c on air. Dat's nasty.

I've read the entire thread and every single one of us are super super happy. Testimonials and what-not. Unfortunitely you will NEVER see benches unless they come from very far flung 3rd world places , and I suspect that is part of Intel's blackballing of this cpu. There just aren't any benches (or super few and all have the 5775c @ 3.3ghz when all of us can hit 4.2-4.4ghz), but 1080p is the very best way to bench cpu anyway . I understand you want to know if it's better at that rez, and im telling you NONE of us were gaming at 1080p and we all see vast improvements across the board, including HUGE HUGE gains in games, especially in my case when I'm at 144hz 1440p, and power consumption is way down. these are 14nm cpus. They sip power. Just go read 10 or 20 pages here... http://www.overclock.net/t/1583537/intel-broadwell-c-ownership-club/720#post_26005440

it's simple math. ipc improvement, die shrink, single core and physics scores are up, and 143MB vs 8mb cache....... As the articles I linked are titled "Broadwell Destroyer" and they call it "The Gaming Behemoth." I couldn't have said it any better. It beats 7700k, so of course it roflstomps 4790k, even the golden 5.0ghz ones like many of us sold/gifted when we jumped on The Gaming Behemoth. I'm pretty much all gamer so for me I wouldnt trade it for a 7700k. Nope.

Regardless of what % it wins by, it will NEVER lose to a 4790k in any title and it will ALWAYS beat it by at least some measurable amount. For $50.

If I decide to upgrade my 2600K to a new CPU that is most practical to handle a 1080Ti which is it going to be? Or do you guys recommend waiting for newer CPU's?
