It will still downclock due to temperature to 2063. How do you want me to lock it there or 1.093 V bin if it will still downclock after 60C. There are two moments that Core downclocks. At 60 C it downclock one bin and at 71 it downclocks another bin. 71 I can avoid with custom fan curve but hell I can't keep temp on air below 60 C.

Also why when I made custom curve and save my profile and I apply +50 more on Memory and hit apply Afterburner changes my curve? mad.gif

the original thermal grizz, half as good as hydro. it's like 3, hydro is 6, and Kyro is 13.2 or something like that. Just get the Kyro, it costs more because it's the best by far.

you need the kyro.

the curve will always adjust to it's real frequencies, aka 2100, 2088, 2076, 2063, 2050, 2037, 2025, 2012, 2000, 1987, 1974, 1961, 1949.... etc, etc. every 2 steps is 25mhz.

I haven't kept up with Pascal overclocking, but isn't anyone creating custom BIOSes to override GPU Boost's throttling behavior? I agree, it's annoying.

I received my Copper shims yesterday, 25mmx25mmx1.5mm.

I dont get why I didnt double check those meassurements, as they are just enough to cover the die of the GPU itself.

Thats dangerous isnt it?

Shouldn't it also rest on the silver edges, as to divide the preassure?

Anyway, I did test, and my Temps rose to >90'C and I got Driver crash, so I must've mounted it skewered or something.
Works fine when I put the normal cooler on again.

a 45mmx45mmx1.5mm Copper shim would be perfect..

I was able to do full Heaven benchmark on 1.093V 2088 downclocked to 2076 after 50C. 100% Fan speeds allowed me to keep 2076 core and 6100 Mhz Memory for full run at 1440p Extreme.

Mind it is on stock 5775C CPU (didn't OC it yet):

The store still has my FE card. I've just about convinced myself to go get it back and pick up an AIO and shunt mod it. 2 questions:

1) For the shunt mod, I'd prefer soldering a wire on each PCI-e connectors shunt. A single stand of thin aluminium speaker wire should do the trick? Or should I use copper wire?

2) This will be the first time I put an AIO on a gpu. These things are meant for CPUs, do I need to mod the AIO at all? Are there brackets that are sold? I'm looking ideally for a 120mm thick rad AIO as that's all that my current case will accommodate. If performance is really better with a 240mm, I could make that work as well. What are the general recommendations for AIO on a 1080Ti? I want the best cooling performance. Here's where I'll be buying the AIO from most likely:

Oh, and are the VRMs decent on FE cards? Haven't found any info on them.

I have an h55 for sale with a noctua fan on it. You can modify the bracket and install it like so

Or just get a kraken g12

@Slackaveli I did manage to run my card at 2176MHz at 1.093, didn't down clock for two runs of valley. on 3rd run I ran into power wall and it back down to 2151 MHz at 1.081. Seeing how I seem to be doing well so far, don't think I should complain, but damn, stay at 1.093! Lol.

I don't think anybody is touching that, bro. DIZAMN. Beating most of us by a good 100Mhz, ya freak! In theory, wouldn't a 2200Mhz Ti tie a 2000Mhz Titan Xp?

very nice, man. You've settled in now. Time for that 5775c to get up to 4.3, eh? Then we'll have basically identical systems tongue.gif
