No. I did not. I checked. I had to uninstall MSI afterburner and heaven and again downlocked itself properly on idle.

No I don't lock it on certain bin. Should I? I just set for each voltage bin max clocks and let it run.

KedarWolf is fully water cooled so he also doesn't have the led and blower fan running which gives him some extra tdp too. I believe the fan is a 1 Amp rated one which can push 12w at 100% =/, it is spinning like at 5,000 rpms after all.

It's kinda sad but every watt counts with these FE cards, but only when it comes to superposition benchmark. This benchmark is like a stress test for sure. Not realistic to real life gaming.

Anyone has this problem? I have a MSI Gaming X. My power slider is at 117%, but when i load it, it only this about 100%

Anyone knows why?

It seems I got this curve all wrong and that is why my scores and Perf are wrong. I should have started with with like 1.000 V bin or 1.031 bin and find on it max core clocks it can hold and then start my way up until I find lowest bin/highest core clock I can find and then start running benches, correct?

Because I started to finding max clock for 1.093V and putting rest to straight line. And think here lies the problem. I run too high V for too high clock or something....

Once I find lowest bin with max clocks - should I lock it for benches or let it run?

Can you people with air AIBs post your Voltage curves and say at what bin your running?

Maybe I should return STRIX and grab Aorus Xtreme... seems like this higher PL helps not in better max OC allows for simple OC in AB without all this curves...

Power Limit definitely reporting right. if you check the three logs, all at a second timing each, the Power Limits hit equal the voltages reached. It appears Asus BIOS does increase the voltage to 330 watts. biggrin.gif

PowerDraw.txt 289k .txt file

GPU-ZSensorLog.txt 32k .txt file

HardwareMonitoring.zip 2k .zip file

This is my custom TimeSpy settings so hitting a much higher Power Limit than 111% that I get in Heaven or Furmark.

Edit: Could it be the BIOS reports the Power Limits AND voltages wrong?

Are you sure you're not measuring an initial spike? I posted an image in here of my stock BIOS running at 330 watts for a bit.

But I did do a measurement with my PSU and the nvidia command in real time when I saw it hit 111% power draw on Asus and 119%-122% on stock.

Stock was 305 and Asus was 310. The difference was consistent with what my PSU was showing as a system draw.

Your situation is a bit different also from non water stock FE users I believe as you're not running the blower and led fan as you're saving anywhere from 5 to 12 watts not running them. That can give you an extra 3%-5% on tdp if true.

Stock bios hitting 330 watts occasionally:

http://www.overclock.net/content/type/61/id/3007995/

If only we could modify the bios and have it read "Enforced Power Limit 350 Watts" we'd be golden.

I don't know how this nvidia command works, we should get someone doing a shunt mod to do a reading because if they're at 80%, which is really 120% for stock, and if it only reads 200 watts being drawn, then the nvidia command is only multiplying what it reads as its minimum power draw by percentage. But if it reads 350+ watts then we know it's actually reading what is actually being drawn.

Can someone with a shunt mod run the nvidia command with furmark?

Setting it to 117% doesn't mean it's going to use 117%.

It means you allow the card to use 117% IF the card needs it.

Shouldn't it also rest on the silver edges, as to divide the preassure?

Anyway, I did test, and my Temps rose to >90'C and I got Driver crash, so I must've mounted it skewered or something.
Works fine when I put the normal cooler on again.

a 45mmx45mmx1.5mm Copper shim would be perfect..
unlucky. i'd be very careful when tightening that down.

My Grandpa had a copper plate lying around, it was only 1mm though, so I might have to use 2.

Cut them to 45mmx45mm - ish. and sanded them down with 3000grit

will mount it later today.

what mem oc?

I settled on +450 turns out not stable at 500
