I wasn't patient enough to wait for them after the blah that was board-partner performance of the 1080... My 2 1080FE bang out 2100 under water. The ti still blows them out of the water even 100MHz+ lower so - all good.

Impulse buy after a beer too many. Had time this morning to cancel before it shipped but... NAH! Looks like I'll have one on Tuesday.

I read the titan Xp thread and people were talkin about the shunt mod, that you can also use the silver pen for it, wich method do you preffer? I have some CLU at hand but afraid to mess something up if it spills or resistors fall off, since someone said it ate their solder ? rolleyes.gif

Thanks bud! thumb.gif
nevr above 62c, but in BF1 for long stretches it's 58c. All post Kryo pasting of course. generally in the 50's benching.

Nice, so it's not too far off from the hybrid cooler. What do you idle at?

idle's a little different b/c these have zero fan fanstop. If i wanted to leave fans on, about 32c. but the way i have the fan curve it cuts off at 38c and just hangs out there, with zero fan and the "Fanstop" led illuminated on the gpu tongue.gif

and i'd say my temps are almost exactly what my 980ti hybrid temps were before i re-pasted it, then it was 6-8c better than these. But that's with a hybrid and a lot less cores. Very nice air cooler on these. Just beefy.

Hmm. Alright thanks. We'll see. I'm debating getting a second one for SLi once newegg allows me to buy a second card. *48hr window is stupid AF*

I know I've preached long and hard against SLi, but with the TXp being a let down I wanna finally play 4k 60fps continuously *or closest to as possible with 1% and .1% lows.*

if your careful first clean the area with iso then use some clear nail varnish around the bottom of the soldering points then all around areas where it could potentially drip

after that apply a decent amount over both shunts (CLU).. mine didnt even drip once and it was vertical mounted.. please refer to my pics in the titan thread..

I have seen the silver pen and would like to use it next time but I heard theres different versions of resistance so make sure you get the right one

No one has used the silver pen yet, and some people think it has too much resistance.

Look up liquid electrical tape, that's what it going to apply around the resistors and on the solder.

The guy that had his resistor fall off never showed anymore photos or discussed what happened, so I'm going to assume user error. Although I'm still going to buy a small paint brush and paint the solder on the resistors with liquid electrical tape.
