Yes my PSU has surge protection had to turn it back manually to operate with the paper clip on the 24 pin connector after the fail. And yes overheating is also possible with these backplates, but judging from Guru3d review at this point there is not so much heat generated...rolleyes.gif

I did a search for your PSU and it seems from user reviews that multiple people are saying it blew up and took components with it. Maybe the PSU is to blame and not the card.

Really close to a 12000 TimeSpy with Gigabyte F4 beta BIOS. sonic.gif

I'll add it as an attachment here, right click, Properties, Unblock, unzip, run .exe file in main folder, should say flashed successfully. biggrin.gif

Too big for an attachment, link to it in Google Drive. smile.gif

Deleted, doesn't work. frown.gif

I have the second version of the unit, the problems you're reading with X-1250w SS are with the first, not XM2 model - Seasonic SS-1250XM2 1250W

Anyway my monitor is alive, seems some protection was activated and today with another card it has started...thumb.gif

@KedarWolf push it further m8 still 250 points behind my already dead air cooled card in GPU score http://www.3dmark.com/spy/1562028 biggrin.gif

Looks like still using the strix bios to me. Gigabyte one should be 86.02.39.00.57. Vendor also shows as Asus in Gpuz?

I tried the Gigabyte update utlity, it said it worked but doesnt appear to have taken. There's a version of the bios on TPU you could try.

Hi guys, anyone know if its safe to use Thermal Grizzly Conductonaut on the 1080TI FE? Idk what metal it is that makes contact with the die. Thanks to anyone who can answer this for me. If not I'll just use kryonaut

I'm using CLU on FE and works fine (-7/6 °C). FE's cooler is made in nichel plated copper. I also used it on my old 970 for a year and I had no problems.
