Answer is no.

Thank you to everyone here at the OCN community for talking me through some of the details. I think the issue was a bad port on my PSU.
I switched which PCI-E power spot I was using and now I'm able to run OC mode getting 2000 core with WoW and Furmark running and a video streaming with like 20 windows open in chrome.

Thanks so much guys. I also learned a lot about this overclock tool so I'll be playing around with trying to step it up just slightly on my OC the next couple of days.

I recieved EVGA Hybrid kit yesterday (1080/1070) version, and mounted using stock founders shroud.

Obviously max OC is the same, but i get sustained speed at this clocks, stock bios. 2038 Mhz/6000Mhz Mem.

At the moment the pump is connected to the card, i'll recieve shortly a cable to connect the pump on PSU.

Temps playing are 45-47º. On the rad i'm using a Corsair ML120 PRO fan. Far better than stock hybrid fan. Barely silent up to 1500 rpm.

It's gorgeous being able to play with zero noise and low temps.

ANd who thinks a ryzen 4 core stock has the same fps in 4k as a 5.0Ghz 7700k? C'mon, guys, let's stop with this old argument. That like the guys who kept saying you'd get no fps gains in QHD going from a 4790k to a 5775c. Well, everyone that did it like myself, Benny, palotte, and a few others ALL report 10+ fps gains, just from a cpu drop in.

TL:DR - cpu and ram still affect performance at any resolution.

BF1 is still pretty heavily influenced by CPU, so it is effected by CPU and RAM at all resolutions, but there's quite a few games that aren't. You reduce CPU influence/bottleneck significantly as you go up in res, but most people are playing at res' that are CPU bottlenecked.

I do find it a bit silly how CPU influenced BF1 is, though. It seems a bit backwards considering the benefits of DX12.

So i was having some major driver crashing in BF1, looks like DX12 is the culprit. If you play the game and use dx12 you can clock your cards higher by using dx11 and really the eye candy isnt much different. Also i dont see any improvement in latency and fps go up alittle using dx12.

So far my Strix can't hold a candle to my Titan X. Even clock for clock at 2100 it's a far cry from my previous Super Position score. Needs water

2016 XP? I never have the patience to compare my cards, but in gaming I didn't feel a difference between the STRIX and 2016 XP. Of course synthetics are different tongue.gif.

No, that would be glaringly obvious as to why otherwise. The Strix is scoring poorly compared to my original TX. Need EK to pull their finger out and release some blocks thumb.gif

(There is a valid reason why I have both, I wouldn't expect anyone in their right mind to replace a TX with a 1080Ti)

I have a question regarding overclock!

I got the Asus Strix OC 1080 Ti, and I expected the core clock to be at 1700Mhz~ (as the official specs show), yet when I plugged it in and opened Afterburner, it showed that the actual clock was 1960Mhz.
I didn't touch anything, the overclock was at +0. then I put +90 on the overclock to reach 2050Mhz and it worked fine.

Does Afterburner overclock it by default? Was my card overclocked that high from manufacture? Am I missing something? I was expecting to overclock my card manually up to +350Mhz, yet it seems all I needed was +90Mhz to reach 2050Mhz.

Thanks and sorry for my english!
