For Bloodhawk, kraxkills, Nico and I, we saw like 10 extra watts on average from the ASUS bios. But generally it just gave us 300-305 watts when measured by our PSU or nvidia command.

Kedarwolf as it seems gets 330 watts, never figured out how or why it's not repeatable for all of us.

But yes, the SC2, Inno3D, MSI and ASUS bios seems to give you 310-315 watts maximum. But you actually don't hit that maximum that often so it'll perform roughly equal to stock (or in my experience worse than stock).

But from my testing, the SC2 bios perform on par with the stock bios with some extra benefits, it is from my understanding a reference designed board after all. You get 0% fan at idle if you want to use that, don't lose a DP1 port.

I'm shunt modded now so I can't measure the wattage of the card with stock settings comparing SC2 and stock bios anymore for you guys. My card will draw 380-400 watts.

I can't measure it for you guys, I'm shunt modded now. But the review website I posted measured it and they saw it got 15 watts extra than the FE card.

This is akin to the inno3d, which other review sites saw it drew 15 watts more than the FE.

Sadly, the bios we want is the inno3d review sample bios which gives it 50 extra watts, but no one can get a hold of that one since it is a NDA review sample bios.

Perhaps you guys can test the SC2 bios power draw for the community.

You know, there's a possibility that it's crashing for you because evga made it really important for hte card to know what's going on with the fans at all times.

Since you're waterblocked cooled, I believe in your case, if the bios doesnt' detect a fan spinning it will crash and stop itself from running. It might be a safety feature so the card doesn't overheat.

This is just a theory of mine after reading the review and reading about the EVGA ICX fans.

Or are you able to run the bios at different settings? If so, I think you'd just have to tweak and optimize your voltage curve for this bios.

Thinking to try the SC2 bios then. Just realised my HX750i PSU actually can use the Corsair software to measure power draw I think.

I'll try to answer your questions best I can while at work at not on my computer. I tried voltage up to 1.093v. I made a custom curve.

About the curve: I did not lock it, I do not know what that does. My first day learning about the curve I set 2025 at 1.093v, and the next 3 or 4 voltage points to 2012. For the majority, it would instantly downlock to 2012 and stay there throughout the entire Heaven benchmark. Read more the next day and learned to start at 1.000v and see where I can get lowest voltage 2025/2012 stable. I opted to try for 2012. I think it was 1.050 that 2012 seemed stable. Well my problem was when I set 1.05v and the rest of the voltage points after that flat on 2012, it would downlock pretty fast in heaven to 1999 and so forth unlike the previous day where it would downclock from 2025 after like 20 seconds and stay at 2012 for majority if not all of heaven benchmark run.

After getting discouraged from that I called it a night and made the previous post. I still think I dont understand the voltage curve and DEFINITELY need help.

Got my Asus ROG STRI 1080 TI.

First of all I checked if I can play games on stock... you know after Aorus bad experience. No problem, with max power limit 1980 out of box, 135-143 fps in BF1 1440p Ultra. Good.

Some simple OC at the start +55 on core, stayed stable 2025 in Heaven for full run.

Limited but Uti in Perf... What does it mean?

Anyway I will see how far I can push it without touching voltage.

EDIT: +65 stable 2038 in Heaven, downclocked from 2050

'Util' stands for GPU utilization, i.e., this is triggered when you don't run a 3d application that fully utilizes your GPU, e.g. when your 3d benchmark stops.

Hmm it didn't stop so strange....

Anyway +51Voltage and so far stable Heaven run 2050 mhz. Max temp on 80% fan speed was 50C.

So far so good.

EDIT: Another run, 2063 Mhz stable in Heaven. 51C Max. I will stop here and play with memory.

Seems like good chip thumb.gif

It can also be happen during benchmarking that the GPU idles since it has to wait on the CPU or other components on the system/PCIE bus.

CPU is 5775C on 4.2 Ghz and RAM CL9 2133Mhz so it is not bottlenecked at all. But Heaven has moments when you don't utilize 99% of GPU so this can be because of that.
