So how the hell am I supposed to connect my card if I were to get one? I read there is an DisplayPort to DVI adapter included, can someone comment on that?
There is one included in the box. Plug the DP side into the card and then connect your DVI cable into the other end of the adapter. Easy peasy

It's still there. You'll hit power limits well before thermal limit. Weeeeellllllllllllll before.

Micron is still the only supplier of GDDR5X memory. All 1080's, 1080Ti's, and TitanXPs have Micron memory.

Unless you put it at 120% then you hit both haha.

PCper's interview with Tom Peterson from Nvidia explains the reasoning behind the power and voltage limit really well.

https://youtu.be/79-s8byUkxk?t=957

Long story short, Nvidia, even if being conservative, considers max voltage limits to reduce the life of a card all the way down to a year.....regardless of cooling. Why regardless of cooling? Because electrical current and voltage, regardless of heat, degrades and almost literally evaporates components/pathways.

Yes the memory was weak thumb.gif

Hmm.. but I love me some GPU sammich!

this is mainly for benchmarking purposes right? what's the gaming experience like?

Honestly, it sounds like your card was doomed to begin with. It had to be faulty out of the factory.

Card can do 300 Watts with 120% on the slider.

A lot of websites that have tested the card have seen it go to 270 watts. So you have an extra 30 watts to OC and play with
