NVIDIA GTX 1080 Ti Owner's Club - Page 717

Managed to achieve 415w+ TDP with the 3-resistor mod. Actually, 22Ohm or 47Ohm resistors are the best for this mod. 10Ohm is a little bit too small since nVidia changed their series resistor from 10Ohm to 20Ohm.

I also experimented with two conductive paints, carbon based, and silver based.

The carbon based paint has around 20-30Ohm resistance over a 1mm gap. The silver one only has about 0.1-0.2Ohms

Quick question: do you guys think i'd have any bottleneck with a 1080ti sli on my current 4930k [@4.8 ~ 4.6 according to temperature] ?

Couse if i don't i'm gonna buy tooday wink.gif Thank you.

It depends, if you are into 4K 60FPS gaming, then NO. If it is 1440p 144Hz then YES.

I have no idea how you guys avoid Perf Caps. I have tried anything from 1.031 V to 1.081V and I always get Vrel and V0p. Even though my Voltage and Power slider are maxed out and GPU-Z shows max TDP at 118,7% . I have no idea how to avoid those Perf Caps...

What is the reason behind V0p or Vrel? Is my clock to high for bin, or too low for bin or what?

EDIT: Complete uninstall and install of drivers did not help. I guess i have to hope it's the monitor at 165hz that is doing it. Will check when i get back home.

Let me know if you figure it out. I tried several things last night with no luck. I still idle 1480-1520 in the 40c-55c range. Pretty annoying.

I dont think he NEEDS it. I mean, if he needs every last possible fps, then yes, 7700k is the right choice. But i am pretty sure you can run a 1080ti sli@1440 on a 4730k@4,6GHz just fine without loosing much performance. I mean, how much faster is a 7700k@5Ghz over a 4730k@4,6Ghz? Maybe 20%? Those 20% wont mean 20% more frames in games, maybe it will be 10% in some cases. I would even go further and say that a 1080ti sli will give you more performance than you need for 144Hz and 1440p, no matter if you are on a 4730k or 7700k.

I have a 4930k. I'm not sure if 4730k even exists, i know about 4790k.

Anyhow, untill i can get 90~100 fps in every game [ i don't even care about max graphic settings] i'm good.

I will change mobo, cpu and ram next year probably, but atm if i buy two 1080ti [+ waterblocks] that is..
